THE BROWNS BOARD

Time To Drop The Negativity About The Browns

Sure, some folks are just negative about stuff - needlessly so. But the Browns now

have the best coach hire in the entire NFL. Hue inspires, and always has.

It isn't as much the talent, though they are missing a few key pieces yet....it's

how the talent has been misused.

Hue is the perfect coach, once and for all, to inspire the Browns to winning seasons,

and eventually, the playoffs and the superbowl. They say football is a lot about emotion..

desire to win, and belief in themselves on a winning team.

I see Hue as the coach to inspire all that, and add a few key pieces to the mix...

a new qb, two new wr starters.....

Oh, Haslam was justified to smile so much - he finally got it right.

Hue's past is a long list of inspiring people around him. "Hue gotta believe!".

That's my new t-shirt.

I'll hold off until after the draft. By then we will know who is joining this team as FA's, UDFA's, trades and drafted players. I see no reason for setting myself up for disappointment before I have knowledge of the overall direction we are going. BTW I am in that exact same boat with Texas A&M football as well. Signing day is coming next month.

It's never too early for blind enthusiasm...

I like Hue, but sorry... still too many hires to go... both staff and FO.

So far the only text message turned hire appears to be the ST Coach. Did not exactly have to look far for him, so may not have even been text initiated.

And the FO's Org chart is still Highly Questionable.

And then we'll get to the draft and FA's...

blind enthusiast here. Shrine game is in 4 days. Senior Bowl is in 11 days. We have no scoutmaster/gm. jr. to report to. Assuming we have boots on the ground (some call scouts). Enthusiastically we need to get our ass moving Hue Sashi's!!

I figured the Browns job was toxic. Too much turmoil & turnover in the last 8 years.

Hue Jackson's been around awhile and he took the job. He didn't even go on the plane to NY and interview with the Giants (who seem to have much more talent, in a weak division). Those 2 facts can't be ignored and should make us happy.

Does anyone remember if the level of praise Hue is getting compare to when Pettine got the job? I think it was crickets chirping back then. I'm not going to be negative- but too early to go yippie yahoo! As Mike says..............

To think that the Browns are only a few pieces away is extremely optimistic.

And while seemingly a smart HC hire, how this extended FO works together is crucial to the team's success.

4-5 guys having to collaborate... Has this ever worked? And these are Gen Xers, not Millenials yet.

Assuming the FO is in total harmony, the talent on this team is sub standard.

Since Haslam is committed to build through draft, then aggressive FA hirings won't happen.

It will take ??? drafts to build this team.

So, it's not really 'negative' attitude to be skeptical about the next season after yet another flush and wipe.

It's realistic.

We started over. Again.

I'm willing to accept that it will take a few years to build a winning team. Again.

But I have no SB or playoff aspirations for the coming season.

Realistic. Not negative.

Pet was a relative unknown, so yeah, the fanfare was muted. But we did have fans, Bills' fans, immediately come here and congratulate us. Then, call it reporting or PR, the positive stories started rolling out.

With Hue it's been the opposite. Immediate, blaring trumpets in the press for wresting an HC from the clutches of two other teams... a jovial intro including 140 text messages... and now, quiet... only the echoes of trumpets... not a single fan dropping in... snail's pace hiring, except by the other teams we wooed Hue away from.

And again, I do like the hire, but so far little has happened to reinforce that feeling.

We're not that far away. The Browns have a really good core of players. Early in the season we were in every game and even in the end we kept games close. The biggest issues were coaching decisions, player rotation, scheme and discipline. With a new FO and Coaching Staff there is no reason we shouldn't be able to win the division next season.

We are getting Gordon back! He one of the most dominant WRs in the NFL when he's allowed to play. With Manziel at QB and a new crop of rookies the Browns are poised to break out.

I knew nothing about Pettine when he was hired but I heard Billick talking about him saying that he thought the Browns did the wrong thing in getting rid of Chud so soon, but if the reasoning behind it was they wanted a coach who would make the team tougher, than Pettine is the right move for them to make.

We need more than Josh Gordon! I trust Hue is realistic about getting offensive help; Thank God. I'm very optimistic about the draft and the Browns future. Maybe Hue will help me stop anguishing about the last two drafts and move on.

and for more inspiration, Shelton is mic'd up vs the Squealers.

Just wait for next year. Shelton won't be a rookie anymore.

This is a very interesting interview with the first perfect fit new head coach

of the Browns, for the first time since 99.

dumb interviewer's mic needs to be turned down, but Hue is a very, very, very smart coach.
