    so.....

    last game, squealers -

Ward is out. Sendejo and Joseph are out? Malcome Smith, Taki Taki's backup is out. Taki has an ankle injury, may not be able to play....Phillips and Goodson are out ?

Well, I think the Browns will win anyways - they got their wr's back. If Wills and Teller are back...we're still in the game winning chance.

Joseph will be back on Friday

For shits and giggles l ran some numbers on Browns rushing stats this year with OBJ, and without OBJ. The theory here is that OBJ “stretches the field” and loosens up the run game.

I counted the second Bengals game in the “without OBJ” column since he went down really early. Here’s what l came up with.

    With OBJ: 6 games/ 194 rushing attempts/ 1,017 yards/ 32.3 attempts per game/ 5.24 yards per carry

    Without OBJ: 9 games/ 270 rushing attempts/ 1,165 yards/ 30 attempts per game/ 4.31 yards per carry

The most significant of those numbers is we were gaining almost and entire extra yard per carry with OBJ in there. In a game of inches, that’s like 33 of them.

The attempts columns were similar. We tried carrying it a little over 2 more times on average per game with OBJ as opposed to without.

I realize there’s other factors at play, but that’s at least some indication that having OBJ, or a guy like him, is good for the team.

Thanks for the research. I've been saying all along that the run game has suffered since OBJ went down without doing the research. People would tell me BS but its obvious to me. I believe the offense was still trying to find their way early on. It appears now they are finding their way and OBJ with compliment it when he returns.

I don't think Myles will be totally healthy until next year. My hope is that he will continue to get a little better each week, but he was certainly struggling against the Giants. I feel so bad for him...it's got to be infuriating.

And I agree with you about Nick Harris. He's definitely undersized for a Guard but the good news is that he's actually quite quick on his feet. I'm interested in seeing our running game and how he'll perform. I don't expect miracles or anything, but it's cool to see a kid get his chance. It's also fair to say that the Jets are going to sell out against the run and force us to pass it like other teams have done this year.

This would be welcomed news because the Jets don't have a great pass defense and if they bring their safeties up, we'll punish them severely. The fascinating aspect of our offense last week was how we took what the defense gave us and we never pressed the issue. We never went "deep" and our longest play was probably 25 yards. I don't expect this trend to continue, and if the weather permits you're going to see some vertical bombs off play-action. We missed one or two big plays last week, and I'd be shocked if we didn't try to get the deep game going. Gonna be a tough game, but perhaps a fun one. Darnold vs Mayfield...badass, right?

    Browns - 31

    Jets - 20

I don't understand why he does not go to the bench and suck on an oxygen mask between series?

The fuck....have you been paying attention?  Our starting  SS just basically went down for the season, and the backup was a street UDFA no one has ever heard of.   And how is it that Thomas, who was considered a great team leader in Seattle, all of a sudden a team cancer in Baltimore?

When I made that statement, Delpit was still on the field. I'm all for signing Thomas now. He did flip off Pete Carrol while in Seattle so hew seems to have a anger management problem.

Our 2020 tickets are paid in full. I am no gambler but, if I were, I'd be betting on an increase in 2021.

It's inevitable. Since I'm on the Auto Renew, payments would just start up again on 9/1 so might as well just let it ride.

It wouldn't shock me if they try to add Everson Griffin to the mix as well if they can get him for less than $10 mil. Joe Woods had a stacked line in SF and they would rotate quite a bit. One more guy who can bounce inside/out with some veteran leadership would be a good thing. Think of that line on 3rd and long?

    DIL: Richardson, Ogunjobi, Billings, Elliot

    DE: Myles, Vernon, Thomas, Clayborne...Griffin?

Except Cleveland dot com already reported the Browns have no interest in Griffin

The Browns gave season ticket holders the opportunity to opt out of this season.  I chose that option, so no Browns games for me this year.  Kind of sad.  I have been making the 600 mile trek 6-7 time a year since 04, and usually 3 times since our return.  The up side is my 2021 tickets are now paid in full, so assuming I make it that far, it will seem like a free season.

I know we have several season ticket holders on the board.  What are you guys doing?  Holding or opting out?

I see no reason to rush into the decision since they did not give us a deadline. If I can't have 8 games or if they tell us we can't tailgate then the decision to opt out will be quick.

You are correct... the Browns a few months ago picked up his 5th year option, which means he would be a free agent after the 2021 season. I had forgotten about this.

Adds value, which at this point, there doesn't seem to be much. His injury history and only 5 catches last season wont help.

For a team that wants to use multi-TE sets early and often, this isn't great news.

But he's a free agent after this season, right? I doubt they were re-signing him anyways.

I believe he was extended, might have 2 seasons left on contract.
