Hmm....that was the same argument that Vagitroll made about Landry...

Mahomes had 4955 yds on 583 attempts, 385 completions, 66.0%

Ben had 5008 yds on 689 attempts, 459 completions, 66.6%

"Threw for 5000 yards" has no context is really all i mean...this is the difference in efficiency, and i consider this much more important when trying to compare players.  Mahomes had very similar production on 74 less completions.  Thats only the first layer of the onion.

Vag doesn't know how to lay out a coherent argument.

  2. Ben threw for over 5000 yards, sure...but he also had far more attempts than anyone else. His efficiency numbers are average, and I don't think 13 games is enough to draw definitive conclusions. It's positive it's even a discussion tho, as baker looks the part early...which is the salient point. 👍

Are we willing to pay a larger price for a rotational player/part time starter?

provided the cap implications do not prevent the team from signing one of the core draftees, i dont see why not. as dorsey said recently..."cant have too many good football players".  richardson and ogun cant play every snap...someone else has to play significant snaps, and current options are coley, thomas, price, smith, or davis.  mccoy carries no dead money hit, so they can always cut bait if needed.

consistent pressure from the front four will make this defense very formidable.

    The bold says it all....

This was discussed on Red Zone tonight Po.  This isn't Madden. Besides the age factor, McCoy is scheduled to make $13 million this year. We're not gonna cough up that much dough for a guy who would be a rotational player.  It would completely blow the cap to trade for him. Looking at Spotrac, the Jags can flat out cut him ($0 dead cap), so if that comes to pass we can make him an offer on a one year deal, keep Duke, and probably pay him less than 1\2 of his current contract.  PS, the bane of Colt McCoy (Ndamukong Suh) is still out there as a FA- apparently he's not willing to work cheap.  :)

duke getting 5m this year, so it'd be an offset of 8m to have, literally, the best DL in the league.  even at 31 he graded out very well last year, and as part of a rotation his usage should decrease a bit helping with health and longevity.  ogun played injured for 6 games last year, out of necessity.  that cannot happen again.

^^ it's totally a different era from the days of Paul & Jim Brown, and Warfield. I do understand Nickers feelings about a guy who for all the world looks like a Diva Showboat. This looks good on paper, but September is a long way off. Cautiously optimistic.

I do to...reading back, sure seems like I don't. sorry nic ...I only find the level of disgust disproportionate to the offense. Odell's been a huge asshole, but to not consider the why ... Would rather others draw your own conclusions, have mine.

I guess I understand the differing opinions...but the browns are trying to win a Superb fuking Owl....like, right now...

Probly won't work .... But damn.... No hope in 20+ years and you can't get behind this?
