Moore is precisely the kind of receiver they needed. Real burner. Cheap. Young. Great compliment.Ā
ĀFuck Iām excited. These bastards are reeling me back.Ā

Iām probably C
I feel like I understand why most people have their opinions and have taken their on Watson and the Browns.
I understand why the FO went the extra mile to bring him to Cleveland.Ā
ĀI get the Baker bros who will miss Mayfield. I wish him well too and Iāll always be a fan of his.Ā
ĀI understand the discomfort/anger toward management and Watson. There are people who are embarrassed by all of this and disgusted by Watsonās actions and who are sitting out as a result.Ā
ĀAnd for those who are excited to finally have QB in Cleveland who can drive wins and put the Browns āin the Super Bowl conversationā? Fuck, I get it.
This whole thing has really divided the fan base and there seems to be a lot of vitriol being spewed at each other as a result. But I donāt begrudge a side here. All are justified.Ā
ĀI donāt like Watson. I donāt like that he canāt seem to realize that his actions have hurt some of these women. I hope one day we hear some accountability from him on a public stage. But if Watson comes in and is the quarterback we all know he can be and the Browns finally feel like true contenders? Well, Iāll be the first hypocrite on the top of Hypocrite Mountain, waving that pervertās flag.

Tired of this sentiment that they did Baker so wrong. I say this as a Baker fan.
HE lampooned his own trade value by not acting like a professional. And HE was the one who said āgoodbyeā to Cleveland and told them he was never going to play here again despite an impending suspension to the Browns starter. He could be on a different team already if not for his mouth and even if he wasnāt, he could have put himself in a position to start a few games while Jackson sits the start of the season. Could have attempted to build his trade value.
The Browns have nothing to gain by cutting him. They have at least some potential to get something back by holding on in hopes that a situation changes elsewhere.Ā

Pretty anti-climactic after all this time. I trust Berry and company, but this feels like a letdown.

Pretty wide chasm between advocating for a coach he believes in - and demanding that the entire coaching staff be turned over based on the color of their skin. You have to take a pretty big running racist leap from one thing to the other.

Canāt vote as I donāt know enough about what happened. Itās what I was saying to people before he was dealt hereā¦ we have unsubstantiated reports as evidence. No one knows. No need to jump off the ship until thereās evidence enough to do so. Does it seem icky? You bet. Does it also come across as suspect? Yeah, honestly.Ā Kinda.
What I suspect has happened (and it could be a shade worse or more innocent):Ā
Watson goes to a masseuse. After she is done, she says āOh, youāre Deshaun Watson the NFL quarterback? Weāll sir, would you do me the pleasure of allowing me to blow you?ā And Watson being a dude says āmy pleasure mālady. Allow me to present to youā¦Ā my throbbing manhood.ā And then afterward he thinks to himselfā¦ āwell uhā¦ I donāt know if I should go back to that one. Itās kinda weird now that she sucked my cock and everything.ā
So Watson finds a new masseuse. And that masseuse in turn says āHey Mr Watson! Check out how wet my pussy is for you!ā āWell hop on, lass!ā
And then again afterward he thinks āgeez I donāt know if I should go back to this one.ā
And so on and so forth with some not expressing desire to fuck him and others quite the opposite. But enough that do so muchĀ that Watson makes some bad reads. He oversteps and he makes some women uncomfortable. And thatās no good. And maybe he meant no disrespect. And maybe upon the ānoā,Ā he left it at that and didnāt harass anyone. But perhaps his boner should not have been presented in the first place without being damn sure it was welcome.
For those instances, a lady or two comes forward and says āthis cat is a creep.ā And a few more come forward who actually consented, but can smell the dollarbucks and claim the same. And perhaps one or two who experienced nothing at all sexual get a whiff of potential cash as well, so they pile on.Ā
ĀThe money grubbers may have inflated the numbers and made things look worse than they are. But there are probably some with legit concerns who Watson didnāt intend to offend, but definitely positively abso-fucking-lutely should have fucking known fucking better than to assume that they wanted to fuck him, with whomĀ he acted recklessly and without proper regard.Ā
ĀPresenting a boner? Icky. Unwanted verbal advances? Ditto. Can I learn to live with those with some remorse and a lesson learned? Probably. Because Iāve been cheering for a team without a quarterback my entire adult life. And thatās just the level of hypocrite Iām willing to reduce myself to.
ĀCramming that unwanted boner down the throat of an unwilling person? Iām drawing a line and will turn in my fan card until Watson is no longer around. Canāt abide by it.
But do I know what level this rises to? Nope! So Iām basing my excitement level on Browns management hopefully being smart enough to understand where they could draw that line. And with what they know, hopefully itās a sign that itās not as bad as we fear.

I've heard a theory that the NFL in general is super duper pissed at the Browns for the contract that they gave to Watson, and the reason no one is going after Baker is that everyone kind of wants to stick it to the Browns and make them eat Baker's contract.Ā
I mean, in some ways, it seems far-fetched, but on the other hand...Ā
Well the league owes the Browns for all of the free Ws over the last two decades.

Well said, AP. Although I have to admit, I never had a problem with Bakerās ego or his public persona. I appreciated his swagger and truly felt like he was the guy to bring the Browns back to respectability. He gave it his all for the Browns, got them into the playoffs (finally) and won them a game no one gave us a shot in hell of winning.
In the end, he just wasnāt the guy. Not here. Ā And kudos to Berry et al who had the courage to fight for something better.
While I truly believe that this upgrade at the position is precisely what was required to get the Browns to finally contend, Iāll likely never like Watson like I liked Baker. Wish the dude well wherever he ends up.

Decades of not having a Super Bowl caliber quarterback. Finally, the drought has ended. I canāt believe this turnaround.
Does it come with a caveat? Oh hell yeah. Big time. There is shit to deal with. But will that noise be drowned out by his play on the field? Wouldnāt be the first time.
Iām excited to finally see my team with a legit QB.Ā

Well here we go again. Locked in for at least the next few seasons without a real quarterback.Ā
Hopefully one of these decadesĀ

I just think people claim to know a lot more than they do about Watsonās situation. Hunt was caught on video kicking the shit out of a woman.Ā
ĀThe former is demonized as someone who would destroy the franchise. The latter? A hero.

I'm may be one of the few who love Baker Mayfield, but who wouldnāt bat an eye in upgrading him to Watson. I had hoped/believed that we had finally found our QB in Baker. But his play just hasnāt been consistent enough to be confident in him.Ā
Watson on the other hand would finally be the guy. The most critical piece of a successful football team cinched. Adding him to Garret, Ward, JOK, Cooper, Chubb (among many others)? The Browns would be a legit contender without question.ĀI wanted it to be Baker. I love the guy. But how could Berry justify pinning another season on his ability?

watson made.... at least 22 mistakes? anyone really believes that he deserves a 23rd? chance?
come on, man.
I don't know if Watson did or not. Neither do you. There's the difference

I don't think you have to "gut" the team to get there. Cutting Keenam, Jarvis and Hooper while trading Mayfield gets you there and many ofĀ those may be moves they're already considering.
Granted, you would have to replace spots on the roster, so more creativity would be required. But there have been teams in far worse condition who have made it work.Ā
Not proposing they do it. Just saying it could be done without losing much from the roster that is particularly productive.
EDIT: I guess it would be a restructuring for Hooper rather than a cut which doesn't save much. But you could potentially do better than my numbers if done right.Ā

This back and forth argument is funny to me.
Is it the lack of a true #1 WR?Ā
Is it Baker?
The answer is yes. Not one or the other.

...another thought....Richardson had a good game against us...and for us, as his TO set us up for the 2 pnt comversion.Ā Ā He's a good player.
And not for nothin' but on Greedy WIlliams' INT, he wasn't touched and thus was not down.Ā And he trotted into our own end zone.Ā Ā
Andļ»æ on Hunt's miraculous 30 run on 3rd and 20, OBJ could've been called for holding.Ā And for no reason.Ā Hunt already had the 1st down.Ā
I thought I had missed something with Greedyās interception. I yelled at my TV āfucking GO!ā as he was peeling off in the wrong direction. I thought maybe the receiver had touched him or something as they both went down?Ā
ĀGood on Greedy for making that play. It was HUGE. But Iām also glad Iām not crazy for wondering why he didnāt truck it up-field.Ā

Why does it have to mean that Baker not doing as well with OBJ is OBJ's fault?
It could very well be Baker's fault. Some weird thing where for whatever reason Baker has a mental block when OBJ is on the field? Who knows.
But at the end of the day, I think Baker is hurt, and it is effecting his play.Ā
I think itāsĀ because āsome weird thing where for whatever reason Baker has a mental block when OBJ is on the fieldā is speculative nonsense?Ā
ĀI suppose it could simply be a lack of chemistry between them. But today itās pretty obvious who was to blame for the lack of connection. And it wasnātĀ some innocuous intangible - it was a QB who was consistently unable to hit his target.

And Iām a big fan Baker Mayfield. Believer, apologist, whatever you want to call it.Ā
ĀI still donāt have that confidence that when it comes down to if-Baker-makes-this-play-we-win, that heāll make the play. He had a bunch of those this afternoon to close out the game and aside from a scramble (that looked like a first down to me), he flubbed each and every opportunity.Ā
ĀEveryone saw how gassed the defense was at the end of the game. Kudos to that crew for being the ass-kickers they are. Win/loss shouldĀ not have had to come down on them so hard when they gaveĀ the offense every chance to finish the Vikings off.

Did DTR have the best first appearance of any Browns QB since they re-entered the league? I know it's a nothing game (and I'm not saying it means much), but the dude was seriously in control and looked like a veteran.Ā
I wasn't sure about the pick at the time, but I kinda get it now.Ā
