I’m starting to get the feeling that being the QB of the Cleveland Browns ain’t easy. It takes time. I’m just guessing this was a learning experience, again.

I'm not sure what's going on with Baker, but i'm not ready to throw in the towel yet.  He might still turn things around, but my concerns are valid.

I honestly feel bad for OBJ.
Nobody can defend Bakers choice to look away from OBJ with the game on the line. Easy TD. Too much pressure on Baker. He ain’t handling it. He’s trying though.

Is he?  I’m beginning to worry about him.  In the Seattle game when he went down, I was kind (in a way) hoping for Garrett to come in.  Seriously!

What the fuck are any of you talking about this is not Freddie’s fault this is not the players fault this is 100 percent on the nfl and refs.  Bad play calls going to happen bad picks fumbles yep going to happen but when the team your playing doesn’t get called for any foul and every time you start to get I. The game the refs cut you down with a tic tak call yeah it’s deflating and crushing it like pushing a wagon up hill and you can see it and I dear anyone to say this was a fairly called game.  What a fucking joke fuck the pats fuck the nfl fuck roger I hope it all comes out and they get put in the pen and get ass fucked the rest of the lives

If you have all this talent, you shouldn't hire a newbie coach.  And don't tell me we don't, because we do.  You hire a coach that was only an OC for half the season last year.  Yes, the team is not discipline, but again who is that on?  We had 18 penalty in the first game against the Titans.  While it getting a little better, just not good enough.  Other coaches can't wait to play us because they know Freddie is inexperienced.  We have one of the worst Olines in football, but a good coach should be able to coach around that.  Ask Baker (when he's by himself) if Freddie is getting that done.  He's been pounded by this horrific Oline and now he's timid in the pockek.  How many losses do you think Bill Belichek would have with this team at this point?

Okay I’ll wait for Dontrell Hilliard to flank out on an empty set run and run a weak slant route.

wrong personnel.  That was my argument two weeks ago hasn’t changed

Where the hell is Higgins?  I heard his name once.  Still think he is a better option than Calloway.  Apparently our coaches don’t.

there is alot of things that should have been ironed out in training camp....my biggest issue is the discipline....all the foolish penalties...have there been some bad calls...certainly....i don't know what is going on with the refs, however the browns are not the only team that have bad calls against them either...it's all over the league...but the discipline part, that is on the hc.....right now, i don't think he is the man to take the browns anywhere....maybe it changes, who knows...all i know is i am totally friggin frustrated the way things are going, especially the way we ended last season....i thought we'd build on that but obviously we are not...

The other thing I noticed is that Ken Zampeze was our QB coach last season.  Now it's Ryan Lindsey.  Perhaps that's what's missing, maybe Ryan just can't get it going.  I'll reserve judgement until after the Patriots game.  If we get blown out, everyone will be pointing fingers.  Also, lets see what Steve Wilkes will do now that we have our secondary back.  If we still stink, then we're going nowhere.... fast.

he's made some bad throws no doubt....but as you say, receivers have something to do with it also and probably the oc....ol line blocking issue is definetly another issue....it all adds up....i don't know if we can correct all of the issues at once...we'll see...it's do or die time....

The other thing is this should have been caught in training camp.  Kitchens is to blame for this, no doubt.  Baker's never had problems with throwing to anyone before.  My biggest concern is we might have picked the wrong coach.  Like I said before, I hope i'm wrong.

We fired 2 head coaches in 1 year.

After that perspective HC's ran for the woods when they heard Haslam wanted to talk to them.

Bruce Arians was available and was interested. He has lots of talent.

We were just starting to climb out from under that stigma......and now some of us want to fire a new HC after 6 games?!?

It's Freddy's fault that Callaway turns a TD reception standing at the goal line into an int out to the 50?

    Agreed on that.

It's Freddy's fault that Hilliard lets a ball go through his hands and into the hands of a defender to end the game?  Of course, people blame him for throwing it to Hilliard at all.  And that it should ALWAYS be thrown to OBJ or Landry....or else run Chubb.

    - Here's what I haven't at all liked from Freddie:  The draw play on 4th & 9.  Of course, if it would've gotten 10 yards he'd have been hailed as a genius.  I didn't like it.

    - Most didn't like his plan to score a TD, use his TO's to force Seattle to punt, and then come down and score again, all within 1:45 of the half.  Me, I only felt that it was a different way of thinking.  It was a plan.  I probably would've gone the old fashioned way and played 'not to lose'.....but for me, it's hard to criticize a guy who Plays To Win The Game.....so it didn't bother me much.  (you can't play the game being afraid that your QB is gonna throw an INT, or that your RB is gonna fumble)

Don't fire Freddie!    Don't trade a #1 pick for a 31 yr old LT who's been injured frequently.   Draft one.

Baker's throwing is clearly off.  We can see it in many games.  Not sure if it's him or the receivers or both.  It concerns me with all this talent, but our record is 2-4 right now.  Any quality coach would find ways to work around a ineffective oline.  He's being used by smarter coaches and unless i'm wrong, we'll continue to see it.  And I hope i am

3-4 … Steal this game vs. the Patriots. Get Ward, Greedy and Higgins back. L, if Greedy & Ward are free to play man on man? we got to score 20'ish & stop RB dinks? Wilkes only plays zone.  ☹️

4-4 … Beat the Broncos for all those years ago. They aren't as good as us. W

5-4 … Get Hunt back. Run the ball down the Bills throat. L, best defense we play left on schedule..and it's not going well.  I'd love to see this, but you never know what you'll get with Kitchens.

6-4 … Win another division game here vs. the Stealers. Wish i could agree with this one.

7-4 … Get Njoku back and make the Dolphins call in the rest of the season. W

8-4 … Stealers, remember us? Do it again. L????

9-4 … 10-4 … The Bungles and the Cardinals get it too... W/W

11-4 … Best the Ravens again for the division. W

12-4 … Bengals are still recovering from the last beating. Split here  (L).

12-4 Anything less is giving up.

7-3 is realistic of what's left?... Can we beat Pitt in Pitt? Heck... we got to have it... 9-7 maybe 10-6..Chubb & Hunt must move the chains & the 2nd & 20's has got to stop 🛑

Unless we get some help on the OLine, I can't see more than 6 total wins.  Baker's got happy feet and throws his passes offline.  My confidence in Kitchens is slowly dwindling.

    6-10

We're undisciplined, we turn the ball over, we don't throw TD passes, we don't score DEFENSIVE TDs, and we don't make the plays when they matter the most.  That's the biggest thing, right there.  When we need to make something happen, when the game is ON THE LINE...we choke.  Basically, this team has absolutely NO MAGIC.  Zip, zilch, nada, nil.  Let me ask you, how many people on this board felt like we were going to go down the field and score against the Seahawks to win the game?  I think it's a safe bet that not many of us thought we were just going to march down the field and win.  That right there...that expectation that something great is going to happen...THAT'S what is missing from our team.  We still expect to step on our Johnson, and it's a self-fulfilling prophecy.  We HOPE someone on the team will make a play instead of EXPECTING to make the play.

NOW...if "something" changes?  If we find the "magic"?  I'm telling you, we're a play or two away from winning some games, and I know that most teams in the NFL can say that, but you have to figure our big names are going to start making big plays.  Garrett gets a strip-sack that's returned for a TD.  OBJ one-handed grab for 7.  Chubb breaking loose, Greedy pick-6...whatever.   We start making those 2-3 great plays a game, and we can be something.  We can win the division, but we have to stop beating ourselves and start stringing together wins.  Now.

Exactly what he said.  And by the way, the way we're going, don't be surprised if we split with the Bengals.

I said 8-8 which will probably be good enough to win the division, assuming we beat the Ravens again and then the Steelers twice. We haven't seen Vag around lately, he's probably crying that besides Ben out for the year, Rudolph concussed, and now Tuitt- who was playing gangbusters is out for the year. The Game against the Bills is looking a lot tougher than before the season started.

I'm not worried about their offence, but their D (meaning Steelers, Bills, and Broncos).

That bomb was due to an offside call ala Aaron Rodgers.  Calls were bad but they scored 20 points in one quarter and 8 points in 3 quarters.  This is the same story, 2-4, going to be 2-5.  Maybe they get lucky on the back end of the schedule and get to 7-9, yay

The Steelers, Bills, and Patriots all have strong pass rushes.  Baker doesn't do very well against those teams.  That could be 4 losses.  My faith in this team is dwindling, hopefully we get Trent Williams as I have been hearing.

Agree... as I wrote in 'cube's "And so it begins..." thread last nite showed that Week 1 is now the preseason... at least for teams whose stars saw precious little PT in the real pre-...

Does make a case for reducing the preseason to two games and expanding the regular to 18 games.

Only problem with reducing preseason to two games is time to evaluate players.  I'm not sure there will be ample time to get a true player evaluation.  Perhaps with three games, but not with two.  The last game with mostly rookies is very important, even though we don't want to see it.  So which game do we through out?  the third game, where most of the starters play the first half?  Still important for the rookies to play the second half though.  Perhaps we could get rid of the 1st or second.  And the arguement could be made that if Chicago and Green Bay had played their starters in weak 3 of preseason, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

My concern will be where it has been since the off-season begun - on the Oline.

Right off rip, we face Casey, the Williams duo and Aaron Donald the first 3 weeks.

My other concern is this coaching staff getting too pass happy.  I hope Chubb and Hilliard receive respectable work loads, facilitate the play action and help our oline out.  If not, the vertical game ODB, Njoku and Ratley can thrive on will be difficult to connect on.

I'm don't think Ratley will be the third receiver out there.  Why anyone wouldn't think it would be Higgins is beyond me.  But we'll see.
