  1. He's got good legs, and he is fairly accurate. I don't think his decision making is that great. OT it is.
  2. Guess it makes up for the lousy catch and fumble call....
  3. Alternatively, It may have fired up the Steelers. Injuries are piling up in this game.
  4. If the Steelers had any slim chance at taking the division, it may have just slipped away with that. However the ref's gifted a catch and fumble out of bounds that just let the Steelers take the lead, so who knows.
  5. That was pretty much my point. Baker doesn't get much time. He will probably get less time in this game.
  6. I don't think they're going to be incredibly useful. They'll still be useful for their yards after catch, but I'm not expecting any 5 second drops with long balls 40 yards deep.
  7. I don't think mortgaging the future is necessary. A top LT would be nice, but a decent one would suffice for now. One extra second of protection could make all the difference in the world. The Fitzpatrick deal was made under the assumption that the offense would be secure, and that the defense needed to get back to their former glory. Neither of which happened. So probably a bad deal even if the Steelers do make the playoffs. Ben is getting old, tired, and really no longer has his heart in the game. He has taken more abuse in his career than most would take in two. Even if he does come back next year, his heart wont be in the game. I don't think we'll ever see the same Ben again. It is what it is. That first in 2020 would have been really nice for a prime QB, don't you think?
  8. The Ravens still have a decent OL which won't be abused so easily. Luckily for us Steelers fans, Jackson really doesn't seem to be the best pocket passer, and shouldn't be too much of a threat given he will be facing a tougher secondary. True though, the odds of Pitt making the postseason are long. But the season is young, and none of us know what the future holds. Most QBs benefit from not being touched. Roethlisberger stands out as an anomaly in that category, he just has some weird knack for making things happen with linebackers hanging off his shoulders. Rudolph is no Big Ben.... he needs that OL to not let anything through. Mayfield also is no Big Ben. But we've seen what he can do with a little time to look down field and find the WR talent he's been offered. Who has Dorsey in their contacts list? Someone make the call and tell him to get a decent LT!
  9. Ehhh.... I'd say the Browns just have talent in different places. Those places just happen to mean a bit more in terms of success on the field. And talent that is lacking in the areas that need attention will probably be more easily filled by the Browns.
  10. Actually didn't get to see that game, had some loose ends I needed to tie up at work before things went prime-time. Figures I would miss that 1st win, right? Good luck this weekend, your boys are gonna have their hands full if the Browns play their cards right. I guess we'll see how management decides to play their hand.
  11. Hey, hope they do, and you get to smile even larger than a capitol D
  12. Agree with Gip here. If you want, I can whip up a few scripts that crunch some numbers based on some arguably meaningful input and output some seemingly relevant data. But real world, I can almost guarantee that these numbers mean squat.... Why? Because you're trusting an algorithm that you didn't write, code for which you haven't seen the source, and which has not been proven to be any better at predicting the future than pulling names out of a hat. I could have registered the domain footballoutsiders.com for all you know, setup a LAMP stack, and be making money off all the ad's you mistakenly click on while you're there. I Didn't, but my point is, I believe those numbers mean absofuckinglutely nothing as well.
  13. I'd expect this game to be very close. The biggest problem the Browns face against the 9ers is their O-line. I don't want to get into an argument with anyone about Steelers vs Browns, but the Steelers O-line is just flat out better. Even injury riddled, the 9ers D had their way with the Steelers O-line, and Rudolph panicked. I don't expect this to be easy for Mayfield in the pocket. He is going to be flushed out often, and for a young quarterback that is panicked, that just doesn't work out all that well. That being said, the Browns really need to utilize their running game in this match. Chubb has proved he can be a downhill beast, and may be able to keep the 9ers D on their heels. I don't see the Browns WR talent being incredibly useful this game. Lots of check downs and play action.
  14. I would not have pinned *you* as a lover of a Steelers fan, given my interactions with you. Would you love me too? I'm just messing with you I didn't actually get to watch this game, I had a lot of work to catch up on. I can't really comment on anything about the game. But I did read through this thread, and I have to say that the Steelers still do have talent on the team. Do I think they'll win the Super Bowl. No.... I don't even think they'll take the division this year. But I wouldn't count them out either. The defense isn't top notch like it once was, but it's enough to cause some disruption. But the offense isn't going to go anywhere unless someone from the top starts telling Rudolph to quit being safe and take some shots. He has neither the accuracy nor pure arm strength of Ben, but playing the 'safe' playbook isn't going to win enough games to beat the Ravens or Browns this year.
  15. The smack talk and sparring has always taken place, it has just moved to a different platform now. It makes it easier for the players to do, because now they don't have to wait for a camera, or a microphone, or a reporter to be in their face... Just pick up their phone, and the whole world now knows. Unfortunately this also makes it easier for reporters now too; They no longer need to have any interaction with a player to report on them. The past decade has seen an exponential increase in "news" articles offering opinion and commentary on readily available tweets and social media posts. We're going to have to deal with filtering out what each of us constitutes as "news" for the foreseeable future, I fear. Congrats on the beat-down on Sunday as well, the O-line actually stepped up and gave Mayfield some protection. Once he felt comfortable his accuracy decimated that defense. I didn't get to watch the entire game, I took my father out to dinner for his birthday but, from what I saw this is what I meant by I think the Browns are doing some real good things with the team. Still can't wrap my head around the Zeitler trade though, I think he was needed.
  16. And AB goes and proves my point spot on.... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/09/28/baker-mayfield-antonio-brown-trade-shots-on-social-media/
  17. To the topic at hand though, a good read for anyone interested in the legalities of it: https://sports.yahoo.com/patriots-failed-in-their-contract-with-antonio-brown-and-bob-kraft-will-end-up-paying-him-9-m-more-010018469.html
  18. After the court case is finished, I could see that as a possibility. There are probably already a handful of teams with his agent on speed dial, just waiting to see what happens. But would it be worth the all of the trouble? AB wouldn't give Mayfield an ounce of respect, and I could see a locker room division starting.
  19. Gip, If it makes you feel better, I will go change my location. I don't want to argue with you anymore.
  20. Understood. AB's deposition in the furniture tossing case was today. There's now some video footage out of it. I'm sitting back and grabbing some popcorn for this.
  21. Yes, my location is listed as the nut house, inside Gippers cranium.
  22. Yes Gip, there is a reason that I did this. You came at me hard. Being a magistrate, you of all people should know the significance of a bias. You should have treated me fairly, in spite of my username, as an unbiased judge should do. I know it wasn't you who pointed this other user out previously, but I did look at some of "Vagitron's" past posts and, It is clear how easily he set you off. You've got big buttons that are easy to push... And yes, that makes me want to push them. I'm sure there are other people, even those you call your friends, that want to push those big buttons. I don't know this Vagitron guy, but I didn't come here to set you off. I didn't know you existed before a few days ago. I think both you and I can agree that we are both smart men. Can you and I just both drop the B.S. and quit bothering each other? I don't mind if you make a clearly sarcastic remark, all in good fun, every now and then, but you've got to let the fact that I'm from Pittsburgh stop bothering you.
