He took some big hits today and kept on going. Maybe if we had WR’s that could catch and hold onto the ball we could get something accomplished

Another Baker apologist. I'm going to shut you Baker idiots up with the dropped passes. There are 20 teams that have more dropped passes than us. So STFU.

Obstacles. Did you comprehend what I wrote? It's not being an apologist.

When a QB puts the ball where it's supposed to be,candy the WR doesn't make the play, it's not on the QB.

NFL games are decided by 4 or 5 plays usually. WRs, like QBs, are paid to make plays.

You can be all anti-Baker if you want, but look at today objectively and you'll see Baker was fine today.

It's the fucking NFL. There will be a few drops here and there by receivers. It happens every game. No team has a 100% catch rate.

I'm looking at it objectively: Baker sucks.

He didn't stink up the joint, my goodness.

OBJ quits a route on a TD pass. Landry uncharacteristically drops a few & fumbles. Hooper dropped a high pass in the 1st quarter at the 10 yard line.

Schwartz, the speedster, hasn't earned a spot on the field for whatever reason.

Baker wasn't a problem at all today.

Of course, it's everyone's fault except Baker. Classic Baker apologist take. It didn't take long for a Baker apologist to start throwing out the excuses. There's no excuse for a team to score 10 points with the talent we have. A real QB finds ways to get it done, he overcomes obstacles. Baker is mediocre, that's it.

  4. Another awful performance by a mediocre quarterback. I can't wait to hear the Baker apologists this week: "But his shoulder", "But, but it was a divisional game and the Steelers tried harder".

Chubb, Odell, Landry, Wills, Conklin all played and Baker still stunk up the joint. It's not injuries or the offense....Baker IS the problem!!!! How you can put up 10 points with the talent around him is beyond me. We need to make a serious play for Aaron Rodgers or Deshaun Watson (if he clears his legal problems) in the offseason. We'll be lucky to make the playoffs this year with Baker, let alone be the Super Bowl contender we all hoped they would be.

He had a 102.4 rating today, with one arm, his two starting tackles out, his best wr out, and his best running back out.

And we've given up 84 points in 2 weeks.

So, maybe take a different angle on this.

Nope. It's football. There will always be injuries. Every year, every team. The defense won't always play like a top 10 defense. He turned the ball over 3 times, held onto the ball way too long like he's done all his career, and continues to make rookie mistakes.

My angle is Baker is not the answer, believe whatever you want.

  6. I give him a D- today. Held onto the ball too long, 3 turnovers, 5 sacks. Has a bad left shoulder - scrambles to get 1 or two yards instead of throwing the ball away and loses a fumble and dislocates his left shoulder again. He's not a top 15 QB, he's just not. We're not going anywhere with Baker. I admire his toughness, but he's a low IQ quarterback who has benefited from having two top 10 RB's. No excuses anymore for him.

    Billings position was/is important.

You telling me to "chill" on him is  more of an understanding that Richardson and Jackson wouldn't get it done alone.

McDowell coming out of nowhere was damn near a minor miracle.  Again, him taking that much time off just doesn't happen.

So I place my belief in proven NFL players of Billings caliber until they demonstrate they Can't be effective. That's hardly arrogant, that's actually pragmatic.

Don't mind Zombo, he's a piece of shit he doesn't understand football.

So please.. Tell us how many SB's Phillip Rivers and Dan Marino won?... Unhuh... Move along Jr.

You've gone full Retard on us. Are you saying Baker Mayfield is as good as Dan Marino or Phillip Rivers? Dan's a hall of famer and Rivers will be in the hall of fame. Baker isn't even close to those two at this point, especially Marino. I assume you're a Baker nuthugger, and no, I won't be going anywhere son.

  9. We're not winning a Super Bowl with Baker Mayfield. Period. He's not an elite QB and he can't close games. He has way too many games where he looks like a bottom five QB. There's no way he can string 3-4 solid together against great teams when needed in a Super Bowl run.

I love this 2021 Browns team. It's the best team we've had since the 1980's and I love them no matter what. But a Super Bowl isn't happening with Baker. Our best option is to do exactly what the Rams did this offseason. The Rams had the talent to be Super Bowl contenders this year, but realized they blew chunks at QB with Goff. They made a deal for Stafford for Goff plus two 1st round picks and a third in the offseason. The Browns need to do the same for Aaron Rodgers, assuming things don't end with a Super Bowl win for GB this year. Baker plus a couple first round picks for Rodgers. All time great QB's like Rodgers can play into their early 40's and that would give us a 3-4 year window with Rodgers for multiple shots at a Super Bowl. I don't want to settle for first or second round exits in the playoffs every year.

Side note for Baker this year: I've dislocated my left shoulder 50+ times in my younger sports days. Baker most likely has a torn labrum. The only way to fix it is surgery, even then it's not guaranteed to be 100% successful and has a higher rate for reinjury. I have no doubt that it is affecting him physically and mentally (the fear it's always going to pop out, it hurts like a mf'er).

  10. Two years in a row Clowney visits us and says we're not a good fit. What happened?  Best guess - Clowney found out there is no market for someone who played 8 games with zero sacks last year. Having said that, I'm happy to have him if it's a reasonable contract. I could see him being a locker room cancer with his selfishness, but this is the closest we've ever been to being contenders, so you got to take some chances.

  11. This was a great season. 11-5 with a playoff win and they beat the Steelers twice. We have a real head coach & QB and the best RB duo in the NFL.

Immediate reaction - the Chiefs were the better team. Having said that, I hate their fan base and punk team so I wish Mahomo and the Chiefs nothing but injuries and a loss going forward. It was a b.s. non-call on the Higgins fumble caused by a helmet to helmet. It would have been nice to get a win, but realistically could our defense stop Josh Allen, Rodgers, Brady, Brees going forward? We'd have to knock out the the enemy's starting QB in the AFC Championship and Super Bowl to win....wasn't going to happen. Our defense was pathetic again....when it was 4&9 with four and change left, I was screaming to go for it because I know our D wasn't getting us the ball back....and they let Chad Henne do it. We had drops all over the field, Chubb was off all day minus a few decent runs (why wasn't Hunt used more?).

Offseason - we need: 3 linebackers, 2 safeties, 1 starting CB, 1 nickel CB, a pass rushing DE, a speedster vertical threat WR, a kicker with range. Most of our starters on defense would be third string on other teams.

I don't know what they do with OBJ. The sample size is big enough to clearly see that Baker is light years better without OBJ. I would try to trade OBJ for one of our many holes on defense.

I'm very happy and proud of the Browns, the future seems very bright.
