  1. 1st half summary: Baker still blows, where is Chubb?, stupid penalties.
  2. Is this like Major League with Rick Vaughn and we just need to get Baker a pair of glasses and then he'll be awesome?
  3. Baker looks blind, stoned, with a bum shoulder to top it off.
  4. Looks like we're done. Joe Burrow is light years beyond Baker Mayfield in only his second year....and coming off a torn ACL/MCL. Joe actually knows how to use a great receiver, and make that great receiver even greater. Baker lowers the quality of his receivers through piss poor decision making and a general lack of talent. It figures, just as Big Ben retires now we have to deal with Burrow for 15 years most likely. Oh well, there's always next year.....or the year after next.
  5. Rodgers and Wilson are long shots, but it's worth asking. And yes, we would have to get them some help at WR. Our best shot is with Watson. That's IF he clears his legal problems, I would absolutely take a shot on him. Sure, I don't want a guy who's guilty of sexual misconduct if he is in fact guilty. But this is the Browns, we don't have options. You have to take scummy guys sometimes to win - Big Rape won two Super Bowls, Antonio Brown is trash and he won one last year, Tyreke Hill beat and choked his girlfriend and won a SB. And let's not forget our good friend Kareem Hunt and his video altercation with a woman (the video isn't as bad as the NFL made it out I will admit). He came to Cleveland, stayed out of trouble and has been awesome for this franchise. He's probably my third favorite player behind Chubb and Garrett. No one seems to care or remember what he did. Let's face it, this franchise is desperate for a Super Bowl, if someone with a questionable past comes in here and performs well and wins, the fan base won't care what they did in the past. I think the Stafford trade that the Rams pulled off last year gives a good idea of the market value for a franchise QB. The Rams sent two first rounders, a third rounder, and a bad starting QB in Goff to the Lions for Stafford.
  6. Yes I agree here. We have the fifth year option and if there's nothing better, we're stick with the bozo for another year. But the Browns absolutely have to see what it would take for Rodgers, R. Wilson, or D. Watson. We're not winning a Super Bowl with Baker, ever.
  7. This game was the nail in the coffin for Baker Mayfield's career in Cleveland. There is zero, and I mean zero excuse for this dog shit performance today. He sucks when he's healthy, he sucks even worse with a bum shoulder. Baker holds on to the ball too long, his football IQ is Forrest Gump level, he is a turnover machine, and he CHOKES every single time in the fourth quarter when we need him. The problem is BAKER MAYFIELD. The only reason we scored 22 points today is because of Chubb/Johnson. Four turnovers, five sacks, and a complete choke job interception at the end. I appreciate his toughness and competitiveness over the years, but it's time to part ways.
  8. Once we gave the Raiders the ball back, there was no doubt how this ended. But this team played it's ass off, great effort by the Browns. The Raiders are the worst 7-7 ever.
  9. Not good at all. At least it's the Raiders and not the Packers this week, should still have a chance.
  10. Prayers for Conklin, hopefully he makes it back, but as said above this is a really bad injury. Remember LeCharles Bentley? The Pro Bowl center/guard who signed with the Browns, tore his patellar tendon and never played football again. A staph infection was involved, but he was only 26 at the time. I had to dig it up on wikipedia as a refresher: "Bentley signed with the Cleveland Browns in 2006,[5] and was regarded by ESPN as the top-rated free agent. However, Bentley tore his patellar tendon on the first play of the team's first 11-on-11 training camp session on July 27, and missed the entire 2006 season.[5] He underwent four total operations, including two to clean out a staph infection that ate away at the tendon, in addition to a virus that became severe enough that doctors considered amputating his leg.[6] ESPN reported on July 23, 2007 that Bentley had been cleared to play and would be reporting to training camp. Bentley said that his knee was "70 percent" and thought it would improve upon the start of the 2007 campaign,[7] but he would again miss the entire season. In December, the Browns reduced Bentley's $36-million contract from six years to three and his salary to the NFL minimum $605,000, with incentives to reach $4 million.[citation needed] On June 10, 2008, nearly two years after his injury, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that Bentley had passed his team physical and was cleared to return to the practice field,[8] but the following day, the Browns granted his request to be released.[9] Upon his release, teams such as Buffalo, Cincinnati, Miami, Oakland, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, San Francisco and Seattle expressed varying degrees of interest in Bentley.[10] However, he was not signed to a team for the 2008 season. After spending the 2008 season out of football, Bentley announced in January 2009 that he was no longer attempting to return to the NFL, and would start a career in Cleveland media."
  11. Sweet jesus, you just don't get it. Yes, we are a run first team and we hope to run the ball 30-40 times a game because we have the best 1-2 punch in the league. Sometimes, the other team's defense is just better and you have to abandon the run and throw because that is what the defense is giving you. We can't throw because our quarterback is a bottom 10 quarterback right now. You don't keep running the ball when the Ravens have 2-3 guys swarming Chubb and Hunt at the point of the handoff.
  12. It worked out well. The Rams ended up scoring 28 points. And their defense only gave them one turnover, unlike the four gifted to Baker last night. Another idiot to add to my ignore list.
  13. The Ravens had 8 in the box and there were literally 2-3 Ravens players in the backfield as Chubb and Hunt were getting the ball. There is no rhythm to establish unless you want 0 points instead of 10.
  14. I'd like Baker to be competent - get rid of the ball, make accurate throws, be smart, if it's third or fourth down actually throw past the first down marker. These are things we can't make excuses for. Did you see what Odell did today with a competent QB today? 5/81/1 - with two weeks of knowing the playbook. Baker had a legit WR and Baker couldn't do anything with him.
  15. Did you watch the game? And I'm not being sarcastic. We averaged 2.4 yards per carry. There were defenders in the backfield as Chubb/Hunt were getting the ball almost the entire night - it was that bad. With 8 in the box the whole night the Ravens just dared us to throw and we had no answer.
  16. The running game didn't work because they stacked the box with 8 to stop Chubb and Hunt. It worked to perfection for the Ravens. The Ravens essentially said: "Try to beat us Baker". Baker couldn't. It's as simple as that.
  17. Again, Baker was just terrible tonight. He holds onto the ball way too long, and he's not good enough to scramble and make a play. He had the ball twice at the end of the game - a three and out and on the last drive he couldn't even pick up a first down. Baker sucks, period. It's not the play calling - the play callers are limited by having a bottom 10 quarterback. There is only so much they can do. The Landry trick play was stupid. But not much you can do with a quarterback who has no athletic ability and holds onto the ball longer than anyone I've ever seen. The Ravens stacked the box with 8 all night to stop Chubb and Hunt - it worked. They dared Baker to beat them. Baker could not. The Browns defense GIFTED Baker 4 interceptions and he comes up with 10 points. I get it, we're stuck with him this year and maybe next year if we can't make a trade for Rodgers/Watson/Wilson. I appreciate his toughness, but this is the most talented roster we've had in 30 years and Baker just isn't the answer. The Browns better scout qb's hard in this off-season (I'm sure they already are).
