The Difference Between Winning and Losing

So the Jets get Tomlinson for 2 years at 5.1 mil. What a steal! If the Browns wanted Tomlinson his price would have been much higher. The difference for a winning team is that they can get free agents cheaper because players want a chance to win a title. So it is funny when I keep seeing people posting that we are overpaying for our free agents. We are of course. But we absolutely have to if we want to get a player that has the opportunity to go to a contending team. A player will come to Cleveland to get more money, to have more playing time, or because they want to come back home to Ohio. But they won't come back to play for a losing team for nothing. Fujita, Delhomme, Wallace and Ben Watson were all good signings. We need them on this team.

But the good news is that after this year we won't have to worry about this any longer. If we hit with the draft then we will have a contender that FA's will want to play for in 2011.

So everyone quit complaining and get behind our organization and the moves that they are making. At least until they give us a good reason to complain.

Well winning is the case for teams and talent is the case for an individual. If no team came after LT and Oakland Raiders come with a 1.5 million a year offer; I would expect him to still take it. He is filling in the role of Jones in a Jets team that already has a good RB group and a steady offensive line. IMO the Jets over paid for him, they should have gone after Jones who was the more productive of the two.
