Well, T, I don't think it's a matter of more or less.

Look around to see how much there is in everything.

It's the nanny staters (not welfare staters) who just want to control everything.

One of the curses of power, I suppose, is wanting to "do" something.

And usually arbitrarily.

 

 

FWIW I don't think we're particularly much freer than anybody else.

I think it's a slogan.

And once they step foot onto a liberal arts college or any state university they continue to be bombarded with the same type of nonsense. they are taught that their parents and the United states have created a strife and suffering out of capitalistic greed. We here it everyday on some of the major news stations such as MSNBC and out of the closet socialist like Chris Matthews.

As we all know that Capitalism and socialism are polar opposites and can not co-exist within the same system. In time one will have to take the place of the other.

 

If you understand how the Obama machine had rahmed through healthcare/redistribution and going beyond what the Constitution allows, and if you understand the words of Dean. They are just beginning and expect more laws as we will witness more and more government takeovers in every aspect. If this continues, by the time November rolls around, we will not recognize this great nation for what she once was.

We have been a nanny state for years,and now we are seeing the scales being tipped towards more government takeover of business and more taxes and regulations upon the people.

 

In time one, will swallow the other.

 

Do you think that in a global community that businesses will be able to stay competitive with all of the new mandates being forced upon them.

 

Its trickle down..... we will see more businesses trickling down across the border.

Living in a free country and having federally funded programs is NOT socialism.

 

It's federally funded programs.

 

The philosophy of **socialism** per Marx, is a completely different bird.

 

A very nasty, dangerous to freedom, should be extinct bird.

 

It can't fly, and keeps going extinct.

 

but no... "smart" people @@ keep bringing it back.

 

If it ever worked, it would never have required state mandated violent deaths to those

 

who don't want it, when, as Marx analyzed, it developed into communism.

Still can't agree on the black and white T.

We're certainly moving more in that direction and I see that as a bad thing.

I think Plato said that any "democracy" will eventurally vote itself more benefits than "the rich" can provide.

 

But there's nothing even close to complete Socialism anywhere.

 

And it's the human elelment that makes that system suck IMO.

On paper it looks fair.

And since most people aren't overly aggressive, talented or lucky it's an easy sell be envious if those who are.

All that's true T and I'm not charmed by Obama, don't trust him or any of the party hacks that prop him up.

But

It's a slow process and I don't forsee any quick change.

 

I do expect a slow regression not an overnight revolution.

 

And whatefver people are born into is the reality they will live.

 

 

Just hoping it doesn't start to suck too badly until I croak.
