Mr. T
The Browns have signed former Bengals offensive lineman Eric Ghiaciuc Report: Cleveland Browns sign former Bengals center Eric Ghiac By Tony Grossi, The Plain Dealer April 08, 2010, 12:17PM CLEVELAND -- The Browns have signed former Bengals offensive lineman Eric Ghiaciuc, according to Adam Caplain of Scout.com. Ghiaciuc (pronounced guy-chuck) was a fourth-round draft choice of the Bengals in 2005. In four seasons in Cincinnati, he made 42 starts, mostly at center. He spent time with the Chiefs and Chargers in 2009. Ghiaciuc figures to be the veteran backup center and interior swingman on the Browns' offensive line. They were without a backup center after releasing Hank Fraley and allowing Rex Hadnot to leave in free agency. His signing lessens the pressure of drafting an interior lineman with center experience. source

ATENEARS
See, Skippy, this is the kind of veteran you sign .. one that adds value and depth. You don't go out and sign 34-year old washed-up former All-Pros because you think they'll look cool in our uniform. You get veterans that can backup our young guys and add versatility ... not take opportunities away from them. Zombo --Ordering a Guy Chuck jersey How many TD's did Gay Chuck score last season? This guy would shave the polamalu hair off his testicals in front of his mom, in exchange for Holts skills.

Mr. T
struggles against the pass, but im glad we got someone who ca snap a ball With the way Harrison runs the ball and the fact we dont have a WR who knows how to catch without velcro gloves, I would say we will be fine in run blocking. A pat on the back for the front office is in line.
mopaji
They just saved themselves another draft pick in the first 4 rounds. This draft is going to be amazing. They are set up to continually take the best player on the board in the first 4 rounds. It sounds like a simple formula, but Gary Clark, Butch Davis, and Phil savage never really understood it. Bag O'Browns
A few Bengals fans stated this guy was partially the reason why Carson Palmer got the beegeesus knocked out of him a few years back. If Mack were to get injured, i'm not certain i'd want this guy to be the one coming in. You've got to imagine we are drafting an OL with one of the picks this year, which makes this signing less important if that is the case. (sort of like when we added Seth McKinney)

ATENEARS
From Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer: 7. The Browns don't have a good answer for why center Eric Ghiaciuc went from starting 42 games in his career -- including all 16 in 2008 -- to not playing a single game for two different teams last season. It's clear he has some problems. He was considered the weakest part of the Bengals offensive line in his last few seasons. The Browns view him as a backup at center and guard, the role played by Hank Fraley last season. If he can't play, the Browns have little invested in him and could cut him. Their real desire is to find a young right tackle. Ahhh ... not such a good signing afterall. Don't be buying Ghiaciuc's jersey any time soon.
