How many times have the Yankees and Rangers played in a postseason series, including this year? 2. How many times have the Phillies and Giants played in a postseason series, including this year? 3. Now that the Rangers have finally won a post season series, which franchise that plays in the NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL now holds the distinction of having gone the longest from that franchises inception without winning a playoff series...or in the case of the NFL a playoff game? 4. Which NFL team(s) have now gone the longest without making the playoffs? 5. Which MLB team(s) has now gone the longest without making the playoffs? 6. Which NBA team(s) have now gone the longest without making the playoffs? 7. Which NHL team(s) has now gone the longest without making the playoffs? 8. Which NFL team has currently made the most consecutive playoffs appearances? 9. What NFL team holds the record for most consecutive post season appearances? 10. What NFL team holds the record for most consecutive winning seasons? 11. What NFL team has the nickname "The Flaming Thumbtacks"? 12. Including the Series that begins tonight I believe the Yankees and Rangers will have met 4 times in post season, the Yankees winning all 3 prior encounters. Let's hope that changes this year. 2. How many times have the Phillies and Giants played in a postseason series, including this year? This year is the first time the Phillies and Giants have ever met in the playoffs. 3. Now that the Rangers have finally won a post season series, which franchise that plays in the NFL/MLB/NBA/NHL now holds the distinction of having gone the longest from that franchises inception without winning a playoff series...or in the case of the NFL a playoff game? The Memphis/Vancouver Grizzlies who were formed in 1995 have now gone the longest from inception without winning anything in postseason, 4. Which NFL team(s) have now gone the longest without making the playoffs? Both the Bills and the Lions have not seen the postseason since 1999 5. Which MLB team(s) has now gone the longest without making the playoffs? The Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals have not made a playoff appearance since 1981 6. Which NBA team(s) have now gone the longest without making the playoffs? Both the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves have not made the playoffs since 2004 7. Which NHL team(s) has now gone the longest without making the playoffs? The Florida Panthers have not been in the playoffs since 1999. 8. Which NFL team has currently made the most consecutive playoffs appearances? The Colts are on a streak of making the playoffs 8 years in a row. The next team currently has only gone 4 years. 9. What NFL team holds the record for most consecutive post season appearances? That would actually be The Cleveland Browns who went to postseason play 10 consecutive years from 1946-1955. If you only counted NFL and not AAFC years, the answer would be The Dallas Cowboys with 9 years from 1975-1983. If the Colts were to make the postseason this year they would tie that record. 10. What NFL team holds the record for most consecutive winning seasons? This is the Dallas Cowboys from 1966 to 1985. 11. What NFL team has the nickname "The Flaming Thumbtacks"? The Tennessee Titans because of their helmet logo: 12. Identify this artifact if you can: This is the fob or medallion that was given to the members of the 1920 NFL Champion Akron Pros.
