THE BROWNS BOARD

Dave Zastudil or Reggie Hodges

When big Z is healthy who do we keep or what do we do? Hodges or Z? Both are excellent punters that give us field position. I wonder if that fake punt could be ran with Z. I don't believe we would keep both. Maybe trade one for position of need? I'll bet there's plenty of teams that need a punter that can consistantly drop the rock inside the 20. I personally like Z, but my only concern is his right knee (kicking leg) getting healthy.

I loved Zastudil, but Hodges is having an All-Pro year. His punts against Pittsburgh were an absolute thing of beauty. Nine punts inside the 10 already and almost 45 yards a punt? Sign him to an extension. Zasty may never be fully healthy.

this is a very interesting question. i was thinking of this the other day

hodges seems to do it more consistantly than zastudil did and he seems like hes fast enough to get away if something goes wrong(70 yard run against my saints)

while hodges seems to have better punts consistantly.....zastudil just punted more i think

id take hodges if i had a knife to my throat but you guys have 2 of the best punters in the league

This question is a very easy one to answer. Didnt anyone realize Dave Zastudil is a free agent next year? You can beat your ass he wont be resigned. So he definitely won't be around, now as far as Hodges hes showed me in the last few years filling in for Zastudil that hes a very good punter and he took it up a notch on Sun vs the Saints. In fact if you look at his stats and hes been one of the best punters in the NFL this year. So yeah you've got to resign him. My only worry is he signs with a better team in the offseason.

We all remember the days of bad punters after Gardocki was done we went through a few that really sucked balls...

Got to go with Hodges. Having a great year, suprising speed on the fake punt at the Saints. No history of back or leg problems. How long would DZ be healthy until something goes down again. Try to add some depth somewhere in trading him.

Hodges is also 4 years younger than Zastudil.

Bottom line is that having to chose between 2 QUALITY players is a pleasant position to be in, right?

I'll trust our management on this one.

i dont know that punters are very valuable on the trade block......i cant see the browns getting anything back in return for a punter with injury problems

Was watching the game in Vegas and my buddy made a funny comment after the fake. "The Browns have a black punter and a white running back" Usually it's the other way around.

Well, at least they won't be in trouble with the EOO as they are equal opportunity employers. (or is that the OEO?)
