The Gipper
Here is some trivia involving the Patriots, a lot, but not all regarding them vis a vis the Browns. See how you can do: Nearly all the correct answers have been given so I will go ahead and finish off the thread by giving the answers: 1. Who is the Patriots all time leading rusher, and what significance did this player have otherwise in the history of college football? Zombo got it. Sam "Bam" Cunningham who played for USC back in the mid to late 60s. When he ran up, down and through Alabama Bear Bryant pleaded with the powers that be at Alabama to let him recruit some black players for the sake of the future of the football program. I don't think Bear himself was discriminatory, but the University Administration and the Governor of the state of course did not want Alabama to be integrated....that is until they saw what Cunningham did to them. 2. What QB who was the Patriots starting QB for several years also played QB for the Browns? Babe Parilli started 3 games for the Browns in 1956, but went on to be the Pats starting QB for most of the first half of the 60s. 3. When did the Browns and Patriots last play in the post season and what was the result? The one and only time they have played in the post season was the first round of the 1994 playoffs. Bill Belichick coached the Browns to a 20-13 victory over his mentor, Bill Parcells who was the Pats coach at the time. 4. What player who also at some point in time in his career played for the Browns was the Patriots leading receiver in 1973 and 1974? I hope this wording made Zombo happy. It was Reggie Rucker who led the Pats in receptions in the years mentioned. 5. What is the head to head record between the Browns and Patriots? (regular season) Browns lead 11-9 6. There are 2 NFL teams who have never defeated the New England Patriots. Name them. (yes they have played both a number of times) The Patriots are 5-0 all time against the Jacksonville Jaguars....and 6-0 all time against the Baltimore Ravens! 7. Which NFL team holds the record for the longest undefeated streak? The Canton Bulldogs went 25 consecutive games without a loss. A couple of ties were thrown in there. The Pats do have the all time win streak with 21.....but note: of the 21 Pats wins, 3 were done in OT. Under the rules the Bulldogs played...and any other team prior to the mid-70s...those 3 Pats games would have ended in ties, not wins. 8. Four players thus far who played for the Patriots have made the HOF. Name the 4. Andre Tippet and John Hanna played their entire careers with the Patriots. Mike Haynes who may be be better known for his years with the Raiders played 7 years with the Pats. And, also Nick Buonticonti, who is better known for his days with the Dolphins also played 6 years with the Pats (and 7 years with the Dolphins) 9. In the 1970s, three NFL teams played some portion of their games at stadiums owned by Ivy League colleges. The Pats were one, playing a year at Harvard Stadium. Name the other two, and the stadiums. The Pats played their games in 1970 as mentioned at Harvard Stadium. The Giants played for 2 years at the Yale Bowl in New Haven, Conn. in 1973 and 1974 while they were waiting for the construction of Giants Stadium and the burial of Jimmy Hoffa in there. Also, the Eagles played for 15 years from the late 50s to the early 70s at Franklin Field which is on the University of Pennsylvania campus. 10. In the first round of the 1962 AFL draft, the Patriots selected a player who chose to play instead for the Cleveland Browns of the NFL who also drafted him. Who was that player? Gary Collins. Of course he went on to a stellar career with the Browns. He is still the Browns all time career leader in TDs receptions. Good choice!!

The Gipper
Great trivia however the question about 2 teams that never beaten the Patriots is half correct. The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Patriots in the Playoffs last year. The records that I took the question from only referred to regular season play, though that perhaps should have been clarified.
