This guy took a beer belly full of liquids, 12 oz bottles labeled salt solution, a t-shirt labeling Osama bin Laden a hero, a Hezbollah flag, and a bunch of small weapons onto planes with counterfeit boarding passes. 9/11 caused a change in society. An American plane will never get hijacked again. The psyche of the average American changed. It's no longer, oh, if we cooperate, they'll drop us off in Cuba. No. Now if a plane gets hijacked, you're going to DIE if you don't do anything about it.

 

Now, if someone wanted to sneak a liquid bomb onto the plane, well, TSA won't be able to stop them, either because all you need is a beer belly and bottles labeled "saline solution" to get past them. But really, do you think the next terrorist attack will honestly be something like that? Bin Laden isn't a moron. It's going to be hard for any brown person to try and do that. If a white guy pulls it, though, there really isn't much we could do. But back to the tactics. You can cause the same amount of fear and panic of traveling by setting bombs off at crowded airport terminals that you could setting a bomb off in a plane. And a ground attack would probably kill more people, because there's no guarantee where a Boeing lawn dart can land.
