4-3?

If Holmgren does start making this his team in a truer sense... do we go to a 4-3? Would that make Shaun Rogers more sensible alongside Rubin? Could Matt Roth be a prototypical 4-3 DE, a Jared Allen or Aaron Kampmann? Fujita and Gocong have both played in a 4-3 and a lot of people think Jackson should.

Wonder how much work we'd have to do to make our front 7 work?

take the 1 and ONLY thing (sides hillis) on your team that is up to a professional NFL team's standards and change it.

I truly think the 4-3 in the NFL is a dinosaur. You'll see teams gradually move away from it because most of the top defense are running the 3-4 and there are more players that translate to 3-4 outside LB's in the draft than guys that make true defensive ends in the NFL.

Pass rushing defensive ends that is.

The fact is, Holmgren is an offensive guy. He bascially leaves the defense to someone else. He is not going to dictate a change from the 3-4 to the 4-3 just to "make the Browns in his image". His image is as an offensive coach.

They might bring in a West Coast offensive coordinator, but not a 4-3 specialist per se.

Hell, I have seen times when some teams, the Browns included had 1 defensive lineman on the field and like 6 LBs!
