I'm sick and tired of Browns fans always getting the crap publicity so here's a little tidbit about the 'great' stooler fans he played for. Was the worst act from a visiting fan or while traveling to a different stadium? Nope - he just had to stay right in pittspuke to find shitty fans.

"Actually, the worst act I've seen from a spectator came at a home game. In December 1998, I was running off the field with our quarterback, Kordell Stewart, when somebody doused Kordell with a full beer, right on his face. It was the most despicable thing I've ever seen. Kordell handled it much better than I would have. He kept going into the locker room (though he understandably lost a lot of respect for Steelers fans). Had it happened to me, I probably would have tried to climb into the stands and gone after the fan."

Face it - ALL cities have good and bad fans. But I get tired of the constant barrage on Browns fans. In traveling to many NFL cities and taking in games at different venues, steeler fans are no better than Browns fans, believe me. This tidbit doesn't surprise me at all. To boo your own players is one thing, to throw a beer right in your QBs face is another...

It was a act against Kordell not another fan. Yes it was totally heinous and would have really pissed me off had I been witness no matter how bad Kordell may have played during that game. I've gone to games in Cleveland and have always been with a bunch of diehard Browns fans. (College friends) so I never got it as bad but I've been witness to plenty of other bs scenarios. Granted you take the good with the bad and there are plenty of classy Browns fans but there is also a good bit of classless ones. Ask the guys that have gone to Pittsburgh games in Pittsburgh. It's usually pretty hospitable but that isn't always the case in Cleveland. In the end I do think Cleveland has gotten a bit of a bad rap but when you have recent incidents with little kids getting tossed on the ground it's hard to wash the stink off. Why post sh.it like this anyway? Once again and I feel like I should put this in a sig or the mods should run a ticker. If you don't want the Steeler fans around STOP MAKING Steeler related posts. It is Steeler week so it's a bit different but on any given day I can hit this board and read at least 2 or 3 threads dedicated specifically to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

I didn't say otherwise, did I? And I said all teams have good and bad. I posted this because it was in an article I read today, pure and simple. I expected a troll to answer this post. No big deal, these threads welcome this type of discussion. But I don't get why anyone would waste their time on other threads if they were not a fan.

 

Listen, this could have been about any other city. I'm just defending against the ridicule Cleveland fans get stemming from beer night. I've seen some heinous things at Browns games. Hell, I don't even go to the muni-lot anymore just as I don't go to college bars - because I don't like overly drunk kids in their 20's that are more interested in fighting and hooking up with chicks than hanging out or watching football.

But I can say the same about pitt, cincy, Chicago, New York and about any other northern city. The southern contingent aren't as rabid and in my mind are TOO hospitable. Nothern cities are passionate and it kills me when other fans that live in glass stadiums toss stones our way.

 

And again - I'm on and off this board but get the feeling you live here or keep track of my posts....it's almost creepy....

Please it's not close. Major corporations have set up their heard quarters in the Pittsburgh area and Pittsburgh proper. The housing market has suffered no where close to the degree that the nation has and truthfully didn't experience much of a crash at all. Property taxes haven't gone up in a long, long time. Incentives are provided to movie studios to have movies in the area hence the influx of money to the city and movies filmed in the area. Unstoppable and The Next 3 days being the most recent. Love and Other Drugs as well. Successful sports franchises that bring a lot of cash to the city. Redevelopment up and down both primary rivers outside of the Ohio. Leader in Green technology and medical supply development. One of the best health systems in the United States even though the Cleveland Clinic is top notch. Pittsburgh is a much, much better city. I actually hate Cleveland and not even because of the sports teams. The only city in Ohio worth a sh.it is Columbus. Cleveland is a mess all things considered. High rate of crime, several of the at one time up and coming areas are completely run down. The flats are now a nightmare. If we're being realists it's not close. Pittsburgh was the epicenter of the free world at one point and had a terrible crash with the Steel industry collapsing and has worked hard to reinvent itself. There is a reason the G20 summit was held in the city. Don't kid yourself. Pittsburgh sh.its on Cleveland. Eliminate the bias and you'll see that for yourself.
