In my survey I asked you to grade this years draft, which, while fun, is perhaps a meaningless exercise since it will be several years before it can truly be graded. So, OK, lets go back a few years. Give a grade to our last several drafts. Here they are. Give your grade:

2010:

Joe Haden

TJ Ward

Montario Hardesty

mangini might not be the best coach of all time....but he is elite when it comes to drafts.

he brought a lot of talent to new york when he coached the jets and his drafts in cleveland turned out really well so far

he is, in my mind, one of the best coaches at evaluating talent despite his win/loss record

hopefully the brownies can continue the success that he started

2010:

Joe Haden

TJ Ward

Montario Hardesty

Colt McCoy

Shaun Lauvao

Larry Assante

Carlton Mitchell

Clifford Geathers

Your Grade: A-

If Colt Has a good year in 2011 this gets moved up to an A or A+ pretty fast. I'm also anxious to see if Hardesty can stay healthy and want to see Mitchell get some playing time..

2009:

Alex Mack

Brian Robiskie

Mohamed Massaquoi

David Veikune

Kailuka Maiava

Don Carey

Coye Francies

James Davis

Your Grade: C+

Mack was a great pick despite ESPN saying it was a reach. Momass and Robo are still up in the air but the rest are nobody's.. Robo had a nice end to 2010 so hopefully he can build on that this year..

2008:

Beau Bell

Martin Rucker

Ahtyba Rubin

Paul Hubbard

Alex Hall

Your Grade: C-

Thank God for Ahtyba Rubin.

2007:

Joe Thomas

Brady Quinn

Eric Wright

Brandon McDonald

Melila Purcell

Chase Pittman

Syndric Steptoe

Your Grade: B-

This draft doesn't really deserve a B but the fact that we took Joe Thomas first and waited a bit for Quinn saved us a little. Just think how much worse (is it possible?) we could have been these past few years without Joe Thomas! I'm also praying Wright can have a rebound year.

2006:

Kameron Wimbley

D'Qwell Jackson

Travis Wilson

Leon Williams

Isaac Sowells

Jerome Harrison

DeMario Minter

Lawrence Vickers

Babatunde Owshinowo

Justin Hamilton

Your Grade: D+

The plus is for Vickers. The rest of this draft is full of injured players, busts, and no names...

2005:

Braylon Edwards

Brodney Pool

Charlie Frye

Antonio Perkins

David McMillan

Nick Speegle

Andrew Hoffman

Jon Dunn

Your Grade: D-

One good year out of "Stone hands" Edwards plus a mediocre safety. Pretty poor all around..

2010:

Joe Haden

TJ Ward

Montario Hardesty

Colt McCoy

Shaun Lauvao

Larry Assante

Carlton Mitchell

Clifford Geathers

Your Grade: A-. We hit on 3 of our top 4 picks and Hardesty should be healthy this year.

2009:

Alex Mack

Brian Robiskie

Mohamed Massaquoi

David Veikune

Kailuka Maiava

Don Carey

Coye Francies

James Davis

Your Grade: D+. We basically took Mack with the number 5 overall pick.

2008

Beau Bell

Martin Rucker

Ahtyba Rubin

Paul Hubbard

Alex Hall

Your Grade:C-. Rubin should be productive this year.

2007:

Joe Thomas

Brady Quinn

Eric Wright

Brandon McDonald

Melila Purcell

Chase Pittman

Syndric Steptoe

Your Grade: C+. Thomas is a stud. We for a little production out of Wright for a while and Steptoe wans't God awful all the time.

2006:

Kameron Wimbley

D'Qwell Jackson

Travis Wilson

Leon Williams

Isaac Sowells

Jerome Harrison

DeMario Minter

Lawrence Vickers

Babatunde Owshinowo

Justin Hamilton

Your Grade: B-. 4 of those guys were productive at one time or another.

2005:

Braylon Edwards

Brodney Pool

Charlie Frye

Antonio Perkins

David McMillan

Nick Speegle

Andrew Hoffman

Jon Dunn

Your Grade: D-. None of these guys are with the team.

2010:

Joe Haden

TJ Ward

Montario Hardesty

Colt McCoy

Shaun Lauvao

Larry Assante

Carlton Mitchell

Clifford Geathers

Your Grade:

B. it will be an A if colt works out, which I do believe he will. I would say it was an A+ if Lauvao ends up doing well as a starting guard.

2009:

Alex Mack

Brian Robiskie

Mohamed Massaquoi

David Veikune

Kailuka Maiava

Don Carey

Coye Francies

James Davis

Your Grade:

D+. Mack was a solid choice after trading down. Robiskie has a chance to be decent but he hasn't really showed up much in 2 years. Veikune, sucked. Maiava, meh. Carey, who? Francies, pass. Davis, bum.

2008

Beau Bell

Martin Rucker

Ahtyba Rubin

Paul Hubbard

Alex Hall

Your Grade:

D. Rubin was the only one worth a damn in here. Everyone else was terribad.

2007:

Joe Thomas

Brady Quinn

Eric Wright

Brandon McDonald

Melila Purcell

Chase Pittman

Syndric Steptoe

Your Grade:

C-. Joe Thomas was a total hit, but Quinn's bust after trading up for him still haunts me.. it also didn't give DA a chance to gain confidence and potentially improve himself, which set this team back lightyears. (I know DA is what he is, but he never had a chance to really run with a team's 1st offense and confidently lead a team.. in the end it is probably best he isn't on our team, but we will never really know) Eric Wright looked decent and then totally failed last season.

2006:

Kameron Wimbley

D'Qwell Jackson

Travis Wilson

Leon Williams

Isaac Sowells

Jerome Harrison

DeMario Minter

Lawrence Vickers

Babatunde Owshinowo

Justin Hamilton

Your Grade: C. I think we made a mistake getting rid of Wimbley, and if DQ stayed healthy this would be an alright draft. Funny how good we all thought harrison was when he was running through gaping holes made by our o line that season.

2005:

Braylon Edwards

Brodney Pool

Charlie Frye

Antonio Perkins

David McMillan

Nick Speegle

Andrew Hoffman

Jon Dunn

Your Grade: C. Braylon has turned out to be decent although not the elite he could be if he could hold on to the damn ball. Pool is ok at best. Another crappy draft, honestly.

I like the way we have drafted the last 2 years with Holmgren/Heckert. I am thinking we are on our way to a rebuilding that will stick for good.

In my survey I asked you to grade this years draft, which, while fun, is perhaps a meaningless exercise since it will be several years before it can truly be graded. So, OK, lets go back a few years. Give a grade to our last several drafts. Here they are. Give your grade:

2010:

Joe Haden - Looks like a future ProBowler

TJ Ward - ^That^

Montario Hardesty - We will see

Colt McCoy - Could be what we've been waiting for

Shaun Lauvao - Wasn't overly impressed in his starts, but has the tools to be good

Larry Assante - I believe he was starting in Tampa by the end of the year

Carlton Mitchell - Didn't play enough to tell or see any progression

Clifford Geathers - Not with the team

Your Grade: A based upon the potential shown alone. We got potentially 5 or 6 starters Haden, Ward, Hardesty(looked real good, needs to stay healthy), McCoy, and Lauvao

2009:

Alex Mack - ProBowl in year 2. Very underrated around the league

Brian Robiskie - Didn't like the pick at the time, still not thrilled but started to get it going towards the end of last year. Maybe the WCO will turn him around.

Mohamed Massaquoi - Liked the pick at the time. Solid rookie outing, unimpressive 2nd year. Maybe with the WCO and Greg Little he will be solid again.

David Veikune - BUST

Kailuka Maiava - After reading about his boar hunting experiences I fell in love with this pick. Not expecting big things though

Don Carey - We cut him and he caught on with JAX, IDK how he is doing there though.

Coye Francies - showed promise rookie season, but has battled injury, who knows.

James Davis - Looked like the steal of the draft in preseason rookie year, but it was well preseason.

Your Grade: C+ because of Mack and maybe a couple of solid role players at WR.

2008

Beau Bell - Bust, never really showed promise

Martin Rucker - Bust, showed a little promise but not much

Ahtyba Rubin - Beast, was our best DL last year, bar-none.

Paul Hubbard - Bust, had speed but no hands

Alex Hall - Bust, showed a lot of potential, but never filled out and developed into a coverage guy

(Can also say)

Brady Quinn

Corey Williams

Shaun Rogers

Your Grade: D+ because of Rubin. Williams was never as advertised and Rogers had 1.5ish productive years

2007:

Joe Thomas - BEAST. Best LT in the NFL now

Brady Quinn - Bust, showed flashes, like against the Bills on that Thursday night game

Eric Wright - Very solid, but teams started to pick on him last year and he was hurt. could still be solid.

Brandon McDonald - meh, was decent, but never really amounted to anything

Melila Purcell - Bust

Chase Pittman - Bust

Syndric Steptoe - Decent return man, and didnt do bad as a WR but is no longer with the team

Your Grade: B Joe Thomas is enough to bring this D+ level class, without him, up to a B.

2006:

Kameron Wimbley - Great rookie season, kind of fell off till last year with the Raiders

D'Qwell Jackson - Had a couple of great years but has battled injury since.

Travis Wilson - Self-proclaimed best WR in the draft. Did he even make it to double digit catches?

Leon Williams - Was very raw and athletic. We just never could develop him.

Isaac Sowells - Thought we got a decent G with this pick, but never really made the field

Jerome Harrison - Great year in 2009/2010. Showed tons of promise. Still confused with the trade.

DeMario Minter - Loved this kid, but never amounted to anything

Lawrence Vickers - Best FB in the league, will hate to see him go if he does.

Babatunde Owshinowo - Thought we had ourselves a future NT, but lone-behold.

Justin Hamilton - Had a lot of athleticism, not a lot of talent

Your Grade: B. Wimbley, Jackson, Harrison, and Vickers are the only ones to get any PT. All 4 were and have been solid, even though Wimbley not with us any more.

2005:

Braylon Edwards - Had a good rookie season till he got hurt. Then had a tremendous year the year after he returned.

Brodney Pool - Very solid S, but suffered a lot of injuries, and not a great cover guy

Charlie Frye - Never really amounted to anything, but showed some promise.

Antonio Perkins - ?

David McMillan - ?

Nick Speegle - ?

Andrew Hoffman - ?

Jon Dunn - ?

Your Grade: C Edwards, although many call him a punk was solid for us, and has been solid for the Jets. As was Pool.

My now grades are based as much on active serviceable players in the league as much as the active browns players still on the team due to the fact that not every player is going to fit in every system..

2010: A, tentatively. Colt could make it a B or an A+. Still to early to grade

2009: C-. You need to get more than one good player (Mack) out of the draft. Robo sucks and Mass is a 3rd receiver on any other team.

2008: D. Rubin keeps it from being an "f"

2007: C. Thomas & Wright, but wasted a #1 on Queen.

2006: D+. DQ Jackson.

2005: F. They all sucked for the Browns.
