Browns Quietly Looking For A Veteran Rt Candidate

(the Browns still need a rock solid bookend RT to seal off the right side)

The Browns have reportedly been "sniffing around" free agent right tackle candidates to compete with incumbent Tony Pashos.

Pashos was atrocious before his 2010 season on injured reserve with a serious ankle problem last October, so this makes sense. He wasn't even an effective run blocker before the injury. Willie Colon would be a nice pickup, but we haven't heard his name tied to Cleveland much. Perhaps the Browns are slow-playing the situation and hoping to sign an upgrade on the cheap. This is obviously older news, but it reinforces the -fact- that the RT spot with St. Clair, was the Browns huge

failure of their offense to work. Teams knew they could get into the backfield from the right, and they simply had to look to the left to stop the run, and

short and almost mid range passes for working against successful pass plays. If RT's were a "dime a dozen", the Browns would easily have

just spent their dime on another RT. St. Clair WAS the worst. Too bad.

◦Cleveland Browns: The Browns will look to replace right tackle John St. Clair, who is considered one of the worst starting right tackles in the league. Right tackle should be the Browns biggest priority this off season.
