CLEVELAND -- The Browns are close to signing tight end Evan Moore to a multi-year contract extension, a league source told the Plain Dealer. The deal could be completed as early as today.

Moore, a fourth-year tight end, has had a sensational training camp, including two touchdown catches in the second preseason game against the Lions. Moore would be the second Browns' veteran signed to an extension this preseason. The other was left tackle Joe Thomas, signed a seven-year extension worth $84 million.

Moore started four games for the Browns last season, catching 16 passes for 322 yards and a touchdown. But he's slated for a bigger role in the West Coast offense and has become a favorite target of Colt McCoy in the red zone.

The Browns rewarded one of their best players in training camp with a contract extension.

Cleveland signed tight end Evan Moore to a two-year extension, according to the Associated Press worth roughly $3 million-per-season. He’s signed through 2013.

We mentioned earlier this week that some around the Browns expect Moore to lead the team in receiving this year. The fourth-year undrafted player seems like a great fit for their West Coast offense and figures to be a favorite target of Colt McCoy this year.

This regime is working toward making the browns organization a place where talented players will want to come and stay..

This is money well spent now and into the clubs future..

Great job H&H!

When folks wonder what the Browns need to do to show improvement, they can start with the Thomas & Moore signings....These alone show they are serious about building & KEEPING a winner here.
