Onward and upward I guess. We have to quit thinking about the last game and start thinking about the next one. To do so, here is some Browns/Colts trivia. See if you can get any. Any questions I ask will include the eras in which the Colts spent in both Baltimore and Indy, unless otherwise noted:

1. What is the all time head to head W-L record Browns vs. Colts, regular season?

2. What is the all time Browns vs. Colts record, postseason?

3. What player that also played for the Browns led the Colts in receiving in 1992 and 1993?

4. Who has led the Colts in passing for more seasons, Johnny Unitas or Payton Manning?

5. Which QB that also played for the Browns was a backup QB for the Colts in 1997 and passed for 454 yards that year?

6. What former Ravenna, Ohio high school star played for the Colts in 1971-1973?

7. What is the Colts franchises all time post-season record against the Steelers?

8. Since their inception in the NFL in 1953 the Colts have drafted 5 Ohio State players in the first round of the draft. Name the 5 players.

9. Last year when Payton Manning made his 11th Pro Bowl appearance (or was selected to appear), he tied another player for the most Pro Bowls by a Colts player. Who was the player he tied? (Hint, it was NOT John Unitas).

10. When Robert Irsay decided to move his team from Baltimore, he narrowed it down to 2 cities to move to. Besides Indy, what was the other city that lost out in getting the Colts?

11. The Colts lost their very first postseason game as the "Indianapolis Colts". Who did they lose to?

12. The original Baltimore Colts of the AAFC, who went under after one year in the NFL, did not start their existance as the Baltimore Colts. What was the original city and name of that franchise?

Bob got questions 2, 3, 5, and 11 correct and was close on Qs 1 and 7

By the way, here is something that you may not know. In Baltimore, at Ravens games, they refuse to refer to the Colts by their name, either on their PA announcements or on their scoreboard or anywhere else in that stadium. They will only refer to them as the "team from Indianapolis". The Colts have gone back to play in Baltimore a few times and have always been referred to that way, never as the Colts. That included on their scoreboard where they are just referred to as "Indy".

Answers

1. What is the all time head to head W-L record Browns vs. Colts, regular season?

On the day the question was asked, Browns lead the series 13-12. After yesterday it is 14-12.

2. What is the all time Browns vs. Colts record, postseason?

2-2

1964 Browns won 27-0 in NFL title game.

1968 Colts won 34-0 in "NFL title game" (though that game is no longer considered THE title game as 2 weeks later Colts lost to Jets in SBIII)

1971 Colts won 20-3

1987 Browns won 38-21

3. What player that also played for the Browns led the Colts in receiving in 1992 and 1993?

Reggie "Foghorn" Langhorn

4. Who has led the Colts in passing for more seasons, Johnny Unitas or Payton Manning?

Unitas led the Colts in passing 14 years. Manning so far has lead them 13 years. This year may not be the year for him to tie JU, and who knows if he will ever be able to do it.

5. Which QB that also played for the Browns was a backup QB for the Colts in 1997 and passed for 454 yards that year?

Kelly Holcomb

1961 Tom Matte (who tore the Browns up in that 1968 NFL title game)

1963 Bob Vogel

1982 Art Schlichter (who over the weekend was again sentenced back to prison)

2007 Anthony Gonzalez (who I am not sure got off the bench in yesterday's game)

9. Last year when Payton Manning made his 11th Pro Bowl appearance (or was selected to appear), he tied another player for the most Pro Bowls by a Colts player. Who was the player he tied? (Hint, it was NOT John Unitas).

Gino Marchetti it is.

10. When Robert Irsay decided to move his team from Baltimore, he narrowed it down to 2 cities to move to. Besides Indy, what was the other city that lost out in getting the Colts?

Phoenix....who a few years later stole the Cards from St. Louis, who a few years later stole the Rams from LA, who is now trying to steal probably the Jags from Jax.

11. The Colts lost their very first postseason game as the "Indianapolis Colts". Who did they lose to?

That was that 1987 loss to The Cleveland Browns.

12. The original Baltimore Colts of the AAFC, who went under after one year in the NFL, did not start their existance as the Baltimore Colts. What was the original city and name of that franchise?

The Miami Seahawks, who after a year moved to become the Baltimore Colts....who, after a year in the NFL essentially morphed into the Dallas Texans...who after a year essentially morphed back into the Baltimore Colts again, said team now being the Indianapolis Colts.
