Perfectly cast- Zooey Deschanel is the mod Dorthy, (and she's hot besides). BTW, not a musical like the original, so you don't get to hear her sing. WAY darker than the original, Considering it was funded by Sci-Fi Channel, it does take a somewhat more Sci-Fi bent, and pays tribute to not only the Wizard of OZ, but also Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings. Many great plot twists. Without giving you a spoiler, Dorothy (DG), gets whisked off to O.Z. (the Outer Zone) where she has to contend with the Sorceress (Wicked Witch of the West) Azkadelia, with help from the Magic Man (Wizard) Richard Dryfuss, the "Scarecrow", "Tin Man", and "Cowardly Lion".
