Rob Chudzinski is currently in line for 2 OC jobs. Both the TB Bucs and the SF 49ers have him on the radar as one of their top picks for the position.

The 49ers wanted Linehan...but he turned them down, and now Chud is in the running vs Clyde Christensen (Colts receiver coach). He is mentioned in this article:

Chud to 49ers?

It is also mentioned in this article that he would give them an inside to landing DA among other interesting info:

- Might give the 49ers an inside edge on landing a quarterback, Derek Anderson, who can push Hill.

- 49ers could hire Rip Scherer, who worked under Chudzinski as quarterbacks coach.

The Bucs are also looking at Linehan...but have Chud and Chan Gailey (KC OC) on the radar.

Interesting that BOTH teams are potentially looking for a QB...but not really at the level of need to DRAFT one high.

So in order to get a job as a OC you just have to go scoreless in how many games?

Yeah, Carolina seems to be the most likely destination for DA.

The only problem is that Delhomme's too expensive to keep as a backup, so trading for DA would necessitate crowning him as the starter.

Jake's in the last year of his contract and has a very high cap number.

Delhomme is due $5.325M in 2009....and then is a FA in 2010. It would be a PERFECT time for Carolina to go for a young QB.

He's also believed to have a $1M roster bonus due early this year.

His total '09 cap number is $11M - way too much for a backup QB.
