JewDago
looks like we're going to have more competition to find good defensive players. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/37831269.html it's not a huge deal, but it's worth knowing. it'll definitely affect how the draft shakes out. Guest Aloysius
And Capers used to coach Peppers, if you're looking for a landing spot. Great point. The only thing is that Packers GM Ted Thompson is a "build through the draft" kind of guy. However, he's made exceptions in the past - for instance, signing Charles Woodson to a 6 year, $52 million deal. Having Aaron Kampman and Julius Peppers as bookend pass-rushers would be absolutely sick.
Guest Aloysius
Also, the Packers' conversion to a 3-4 means they'll keep RFA Jason Hunter, a college LB who's bulked up to 270 lbs. I was hoping we could bring him to develop as a 3-4 OLB; the Packers likely are planning the same.
Pumpkin Eater
Peppers arrived in Carolina after the Capers era ended. Did Capers coach at NC? I dont know.

Capers was fired in 1999, and Peppers was drafted in '02.

Actually it is a big deal JD its already a crowded market for very specific types of realitively rare players and it just got more crowded..im hopefull we will use a split base defense 3-4 with a lot of 4-3 schemes because if we cant get at least one more awesome 3-4 lineman and one true 3-4 olb and one true 3-4 ilb we may not improve much and our scouts obviously cant compete with the steelers and patriots to find those unseen talents...
