Perhaps this should have been posted earlier given that it deals a lot with the 8 teams left...but better late than never. Give a try: Final Answers: 1. After this weekend, the NFL's "Final Four" will be determined. Which 4 teams have made the most "Final Four" appearances in NFL(AFL) history? Count only from 1966 to current. Cowboys 16, Steelers 15, Raiders 14, 49ers 13 2. Besides the Texans, who have never made an NFL "Final Four", which 2 teams have made the fewest NFL "Final fours"? The Cardinals and Lions each have appeared only once in the game leading up to the Super Bowl. The Cardinals won their one game in 2008, the Lions lost theirs. Even the Jags/Panthers have 2 appearances. Also with only 2 are The Bengals and Seahawks. The Falcons have had only 2, but this Sunday will make 3 for them. 3. As of right now, today, Saturday morning of Jan. 12, 2012, with the 8 teams that are left in the playoffs, only 4 possible "repeat" Super Bowls exist, i.e. a matchup of two teams that have already met in a Super Bowl. What are those 4 possible matchups? Broncos/Falcons, Broncos/49ers, Broncos/Packers and Packers/Patriots. Of course now, none of these will happen 4. Which 2 AFC teams have met the most times in postseason play (going back to 1960)? The Broncos and Steelers have met 7 times. 5. Which 2 NFC/NFL teams have met the most times in postseason play (going back to 1933) Note: there are actually a tie with 3 matchups in this categor....I will accept any one of the three. BONUS if you can name all three. Tied with 8 each are: Bears/Giants, Cowboys/Rams, Giants/49ers (as mentioned, Cowboys/49ers have met 7 times. Also with 7 are the following matchups: Bears/Redskins, Cowboys/Vikings, Giants/Packers, Rams/Vikings. 6. In pro football history, how many football championships have been won by teams from each of the 8 remaining cities/regions. Include NFL/AFL/AAFC title: Atlanta: None Baltimore: 4, 3 by Colts, 1 by Ravens Boston/New England: 4, 3 by Pats, 1 by Providence Steam Roller (Gillete Stadium is actually closer to downtown Providence than it is to downtown Boston Denver: 2 Green Bay: 13 Houston: 2 (first two AFL titles won by Oilers) San Fran/Oak/San Jose: Seven, 5 by 49ers, 2 by Raiders. Remember, the Raiders won one while in LA Seattle: NONE 7. What was the last YEAR in which each of the above 8 cities regions won the last football championship: (note: use the year of the regular season, not the year a SB may have played in) Atlanta: Never Baltimore: 2000 Boston/New England: 2004 Denver: 1998 Green Bay: 2010 Houston: 1961 San Fran/Oak/SJ: 1994 Seattle Never 8. Of the 8 teams left, which one has the best all time post season winning record (pct.) Packers have the best record. They actually have the best postseason record for all 32 teams. That won't change with their loss Sunday. They were at 29-17 for a .630 win pct. Now Though the 49ers are catching up they were second at .586 with a 27-19 record. These were prior to this years playoffs. 9. Of the 8 teams left, which one has the worst all time post season winning record (pct.) The Falcons were 6-10 for a .375 win pct. They are now 7-10. The next worse team was the one they beat. Seahawks were 8-11. Now they are 9-12 10. Which current NFL team has the worst overall post season winning pct.? Hint: not one of the 8 teams left The Bengals at 5-10 for a .333 postseason win pct. were the worst in the league. They are now 5-11 and only worse at .312. 11. Which venerable stadium may be hosting its final NFL game today? Candlestick will have closed its doors with the 49ers win over the Packers. I believe the 49ers have been playing there since 1960. The 49ers will move into their new home in Santa Clara. 12. The Cleveland Browns are currently on their longest drought in history of never having made the playoffs of 10 years. Last year when the streak reached 9 years, it broke the franchise record of 8 years of no playoffs, which occurred twice. Name the previous two periods of 8 years when the Browns did not make the playoffs. They went from 1972 to 1980, then from 1994 to 2002. Yes, it was 7 calendar years....however, of course that 94-02 stretch was actually only 4 seasons, as there were the 3 dark years in there. So, this stretch of 10 in a row now is even worse. The darkest days in Browns history, fair to say?

Bob806
Yes, it is fair to say these are the darkest days in Browns history. You can tell by all the sniping at each other right here in these forums how dismal & bitter we fans are. I try to remain an optimist, as it appears we have some good young talent. Every season brings some optimism, as all teams get a fresh 0-0 start- but we play the NFC North ( better than the NFC East who swept us), and we start anew with (apparent) different offensive & defensive philosophies. Changes can be a good thing, let's hope the team turns it around quickly.
