TypicalBrowns
Sup Browns fans, been a bit since i posted in the offseason but this period is quite an exciting one for Cleveland, as they have been most active in FA this year since 2006, and have signed some decent names so far in Kruger, Greaves, and Bryant. Hope everyone is excited to see the Browns go 500 this year and turn the corner to a team on the up swing. Starting with another good resgining.... Chris Ogbonnaya has just been resigned to a 2 year contract Browns agree to terms with Ogbonnaya Posted 2 hours ago By Matt Florjancic, Staff Writer The Browns have agreed to terms with restricted free-agent running back Chris Ogbonnaya on a two-year contract, the team announced Thursday. The Cleveland Browns and restricted free-agent running back Chris Ogbonnaya have agreed to terms on a two-year contract, the team announced Thursday. Ogbonnaya had been with the Browns for two seasons before agreeing to terms with the team. In those two years, Ogbonnaya has rushed for 364 yards and one touchdown on 81 carries. He has also proven to be a dual-threat runner, one able to catch the ball out of the backfield. He has been on the receiving end of 47 passes for 352 yards since joining the Browns. Prior to his arrival in Cleveland, Ogbonnaya caught only one pass for 19 yards. Ogbonnaya came to the Browns during the sixth week of the 2011 season and quickly found himself playing a major role in the team’s backfield rotation. With starter Peyton Hillis out of the lineup because of injury, Ogbonnaya served as a backup to then second-year pro, Montario Hardesty. However, Hardesty suffered a calf injury in the team’s loss at San Francisco that left Ogbonnaya to rush for 37 yards on a career-best 11 carries. He also caught five passes for 24 yards in that game. After serving as a game captain and making his first NFL start in the team’s 30-12 loss at the Houston Texans, the Houston native and former Texan ran for 90 yards on 19 carries in a loss to another of his former teams, the St. Louis Rams. In a Week 11 showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Ogbonnaya ran for 115 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries in the Browns’ win. With that performance, he was the first Browns running back to rush for 100 or more yards in a single game in 2011

Harry Buffalo
I posted it first technically, but it does deserve its own thread, he is a good 3rd down back.
PoeticG
Ugh, Obi is nothing special at all. Cribbs would have been a better third down back than Obi...
TypicalBrowns
Ugh, Obi is nothing special at all. Cribbs would have been a better third down back than Obi... Id actually have to respectfully disagree with that statement. I think OBI is underrated and could beat out Hardesty for the 2nd position. He was one of the few bright spots in the horrible 2011 season. The dude can certainly play and probably could play RB better than Cribbs could. cdl15
Ugh, Obi is nothing special at all. Cribbs would have been a better third down back than Obi... Without obi Hillis never steps back on the field in 2011. As soon as obi was hitting stride and Hillis was an afterthought it was the fastest recovery for a guy that no return in sight. It was almost pathetic " oh shit he just rushed for 100 yrds I'm healthy TA DAA."
HowieDawg
I remember when we signed him that year all our backs were whacked out. Zombo nicknamed him oblongbanana and we all thought jeez, who is this guy, have things got that bad. But, I think the browns make the right move with this guy. he is a good 3rd down back and has shown good awareness and movement several times when called upon. Horn of Lake Erie
TRich-Hardesty->Ob is a great RB corp. They all complement each other well, and Ob's has a superior ability to get open in the passing game
Zombo
Re-signing Oblongbanana means one less position we have to consider in the draft. T-Rich, Hard and Obi do compliment each other well and are a nice stable of legs. Zombo
