heckofajobbrownie Posted May 2, 2013 Report Share Posted May 2, 2013 You guys may have heard of 350.org, which is a group of scientists who believed that in order to contain climate change at a reasonable level we'd have to limit the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere to 350 ppm, or parts per million, and then begin to lower it. Well, here's the data that just came out. We're about to pass 400 ppm, and we haven't done much of anything to stop it. It's just going to keep going like this. Enjoy your day. When the effects of party affiliation, political ideology, and media distrust were removed from the analysis, the belief in the “Second Coming” increased this effect by almost 20 percent. “t stands to reason that most nonbelievers would support preserving the Earth for future generations, but that end-times believers would rationally perceive such efforts to be ultimately futile, and hence ill-advised,” Barker and Bearce [the authors of the study] explained.
