Browns Trivia By The Letter

I did by the numbers, now here is Trivia by the letters. Mostly Browns, not all:

1. (non-Browns) Who is the Pro Football Hall of Famer who is first alphabetically?

2. (non-Browns) Who is the Pro Football Hall of Famer who is last alphabetically?

3. Only 3 players in Browns history whose last name began with an A have ever made a Pro Bowl while a member of the Browns. Name those 3 players.

4.Who is the LAST Browns player, alphabetically to have made a Pro Bowl?

5. Two Browns players whose names begin with an "Mc" have made a Pro Bowl. Name them.

6. Three sets of Browns players with the same last name have made a Pro Bowl while a member of the Browns. Name these three sets of players.

7. In Browns history, a player has thrown a forward pass whose last name begins with every letter of the alphabet except 2. Which 2 letters?

8. In the history of the Browns, which player on their all time roster is last alphabetically? (note: this player never made a Pro Bowl for the Browns)

9. In the history of the Browns, which player on their all time roster is first alphabetically? (note: this player never made a Pro Bowl for the Browns)

10. Who is the only Head Coach in National Football League history whose last name began with a Z?

11 .The first person, alphabetically, ever drafted by the Browns was a person named Pete Abadie in 1959 (note, not same person as in Q#9...as Abadie never played a game). However, the #2 and #3 players alphabetically drafted by the Browns in their history have both been taken since 1999. Name these 2 players.

12. A triple hot fudge sundae with everything on top to anyone that could get this next question without looking it up:

Who is the first person, alphabetically who ever threw a forward pass as a member of the Cleveland Browns. Hint, not that it will help: His name does not appear anywhere else in this quiz.

Just as another exercise associated with this subject, the following are the most career productive players, by letter of the alphabet, in NFL history (per PFR production average):

A Dough Atkins

B Derrick Brooks

C Chris Carter

D Chris Doleman

E John Elway

F Brett Favre

G Bill George

H Ted Hendricks

I Michael Irvin

J Rickey Jackson

K Paul Krause

L Ray Lewis

M Peyton Manning

N Leo Nomellini

O Merlin Olsen

P Alan Page

Q Fred Quillan (center)

R Jerry Rice

S Bruce Smith

T Fran Tarkenton

U John Unitas

V Norm Van Brocklin

W Reggie White

X N/A

Y Steve Young

Z Gary Zimmerman

Of these only Brooks, Favre, Lewis, and Quillan are not already in the HOF, and only Quillan is likely never to be. The other 3 are almost sure fire first vote HOFers when their times come up.

I'm sure there wasn't a lot of competition at Q, but Fred Quillan was a pretty good player. Joe Montana's center.

And to think ... the Q's were Brady Quinn's for the taking.

He didn't take it. He hasn't even surpassed Jonathan Quinn as the most productive Quinn...or Q QB.

2. (non-Browns) Who is the Pro Football Hall of Famer who is last alphabetically?

Gary Zimmerman

3. Only 3 players in Browns history whose last name began with an A have ever made a Pro Bowl while a member of the Browns. Name those 3 players.

Tony Adamle, Lyle Alzado, Derek Anderson

4.Who is the LAST Browns player, alphabetically to have made a Pro Bowl?

Kevin/Alex Mack

Greg/Mike Pruitt

7. In Browns history, a player has thrown a forward pass whose last name begins with every letter of the alphabet except 2. Which 2 letters?

I and X. In fact, there has never been a player in the history of the NFL whose last name began with an X...at any position.

And, in NFL history, there have only been 2 QBs whose last name began with an I: Kevin Ingram, and Barberton's own Geore Izo.

The Browns have had the Q with Brady Quinn, and the Z with Eric Zeier.

8. In the history of the Browns, which player on their all time roster is last alphabetically? (note: this player never made a Pro Bowl for the Browns)

Paul Zukauskus

9. In the history of the Browns, which player on their all time roster is first alphabetically? (note: this player never made a Pro Bowl for the Browns)

Karim Abdul Jabbar. In fact, in the entire history of the NFL, only 3 players precede Abdul-Jabbar alphabetically: Faye Abbott, Vince Abbott, and Duke Abbruzzi. (unlike baseball, there has never been an "Aaron" or even an "Aase" play football.

10. Who is the only Head Coach in National Football League history whose last name began with a Z?

Jim Zorn

11 .The first person, alphabetically, ever drafted by the Browns was a person named Pete Abadie in 1959 (note, not same person as in Q#9...as Abadie never played a game). However, the #2 and #3 players alphabetically drafted by the Browns in their history have both been taken since 1999. Name these 2 players.

Rhahim Abdullah and Emmanuel Acho

Ermal Allen. QB who played in 12 games in 1947, went 4-13 for his career with 88 yards and -0- TDs.
