Or back on the dole! And don't forget to pick up a packet of cigs on your way back to the government subsidized flat you live in. Oh and in case you aren't 100 percent happy with your free treatment make sure to call your attorney and sue the doctor for 50 million dollars! Thanks for stopping by.

The "Affordable Care Act" just screws the people who work and gives free medical care to those that don't. My care is being downgraded and also more expensive. Meanwhile the shitbirds who are on welfare and chronically unemployed (i.e. don't want to work) will get Medicaid, 'free' medical care, courtesy of those that do work to support their lazy worthless ass.

That's really two different issues you're talking about. First, healthcare should be free to everyone, in my opinion, regardless of who you are, what you do and all that jazz. Secondly, it is far too easy, certainly in the UK, for people to sit on their arse doing nothing getting benefits and living out their comfortable life, drinking, smoking, having the latest iPhone, nike trainers etc.

Two separate issues. One, a basic human right. The other, a socio-economic conundrum.

They also breathe air, drink water and eat food in Syria. Ban those things from America!!!

This is a response that makes no sense to me. Do you think this was some kind if zinger? I personally hope this affordable care act works out as advertised. It will save me a lot of money. Somehow, though, o get the feeling the whole thing is rotten and will quickly collapse or the prices will shoot through the roof.

The point is, just because *something* happens in a 'bad' country, doesn't make it a bad thing. Free healthcare is an expected right in almost every developed country - not that those countries aren't without their problems, obviously, but I think it's a stretch to blame it on health care.

There's also, you know, a lot more people in the u.s. than in the u.k.. Who is going to pay for this is a real concern especially when only 63% of the population participates in the labor force.

It's a difficult issue, I agree. But I just can't get behind the idea that people aren't entitled to a level of healthcare as standard. We have private health insurance here, with private hospitals, and presumably that would continue over there as well.

It's paid for here out of 'national insurance' - that's currently at 12%, and that goes to pay for the NHS, and other services that are arranged nationally. Given that you have different taxes and things by state, it's probably worth looking at this more at a state level than a national one, at least initially.

I copied a link for you. Its already figured out. Read it if you have time. No one in Congress or the Senate did apparently.

Yes, that's how I'll be spending my downtime, reading a 974-page document on health care reforms...

The American Medical Association has weighed in on Obama's new health care package.

The Allergists were in favor of scratching it, but the

Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves.

The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it, but the Neurologists thought

the Administration had a lot of nerve.

Meanwhile, Obstetricians felt certain everyone was laboring under a misconception, while the

Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted.

Pathologists yelled, "Over my dead body!" while the Pediatricians said, "Oh, grow up!"

The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it.

Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing and the Internists claimed it would indeed

be a bitter pill to swallow.

The Plastic Surgeons opined that this proposal would "put a whole new face on the matter".

The Podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea.

Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas, and those lofty Cardiologists didn't have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the ass holes in Washington.

Your cartoon was stupid and your lame analogy sounded like one woody would make up.

Healthcare is not free, and never will be...someone has to pay for it.

Secondly, health care is certainly not a basic human right. How can your healthcare be a right when it comes at someone elses expense?

It cannot be a right if it requires an obligation from..or imposes a duty on someone else.

I have no obligation to pick you up if you were hitchiking.

Kinda starting to get it now?

I am by no means rich, but I have damn good healthcare...for the time being. Obama has no concerns about anyones health. There was never a healthcare crisis. Socialized healthcare is just one step in Obamas promise to "fundamentally change the United States of America" into a socialist state. Thats what its about you dumb ass libtards.

We are now going to see that 47 million uninsured receive health insurance at the expense of fucking up health care for the remaining 250 million Americans.

There were far less radical ideas proposed by Republicans to provide insurance for those without it, but Obama didn't want to hear any of it...this bill was shoved down Americas throat.
