It just seemed to spend far too long building to a climax, and then being extremely anticlimactic when it got there, with annoying characters, to boot. BadNewsBrowns Posted January 3, 2014 Report Share Posted January 3, 2014 Wasn't totally horrible, a bit of a throwback to the Goodfellas,Casino type movies... but didn't do them much justice. Watchable.. but I agree definitely underwhelming, Amy Adams is still smokin at 40 Jennifer Lawrence does her best mini Sharon Stone in Casino impersonation . The attempts at humor were odd and out of place and really threw the movie off it's seemed to be course. The movie had a feel of a serious drama but many less serious moments that really didn't let it establish an identity, would have been much better without all the knuckelhead Cooper moments and some more violence. Liked the acting didn't care for any of the characters and wasn't impressed by the disclaimer that some of the events actually happened. If it's fiction make it a little better, huh?
