Clevfan4life
what I don't understand is why this guy? not that he's bad or anything, I actually have no idea. It's just that there were at least 3 top level fullbacks available in FA that we might have had to pay an extra 200-300k over this guy.
DieHardBrownsFan
Well, he can squat we know that. How does that transfer to a FB?
J0hnnybg00d
He's not here to be Jim Brown, he's here to block and being 260 and strong could help with that.
miktoxic
Well, he can squat we know that. How does that transfer to a FB? i guess that means he's got strong legs and a strong low center of gravity. now does that mean you can plow through D linemen....i don't know? thenew23
Great guy to give a shot and bring into camp. Shanahan likes to use a FB, but not all the time so it'll be nice to have a guy like this lead-blocking on & 1 and & goal situations... slowburn
Who knows? Hasn't played with any consistency since his days at Wisky (last year 08?) where his stats were pedestrian at best. Video is impressive and his 33 bench reps at his pro day leave no doubt about his strength. Hasn't yet proved himself to be a bona fide professional. I guess Cle is as good as any place to see whether or not he has the right stuff. Lets hope he has some good hands and holds on to the ball better than Ogbobanannasplit. Somebody asked about the importance of leg strength for a rb/fb. I would suggest you study some of earl Campbells game vids. He could take over a game with his third and fourth quarter runs against a spent defense. Dude had thighs like fire hydrants.
slowburn
He's got to be the biggest, baddest Vietnamese in the western hemisphere. Imagine how much rice and fishheads a man would need to eat to become that large. ( just fuckin around you pc pricks!)

Without question leg strength is a pre requisite for any backfield position. The best running backs that ever played had massive legs, even the small guys had big legs in comparison to their upper bodies. For a FB it's even more of a core requisite, you have to throw yourself in there and churn the pile. I still don't get though "why this guy"?. Kuhn, Mcclain, Jones...they're still out there. Heck only a couple of the top 10 fullbacks on the FA list have resigned. The TOP 3 are still there. I hope this is some kind of diamond in the rough type of steal that Farmer saw. We shall see. I just rather would have McClain who you can also use on short ydage situations to actually carry the ball and put a lineman out there as the FB. McClain and Kuhn are also pretty good at catching the ball out of the backfield.
DieHardBrownsFan
Yes, leg strength is important, but so is upper body strength. He looked kind of flabby to me.
slowburn
Had he been at the 09 combine his 32 reps from his pro day would have topped any others who did the bench. Interestingly, less than 20% of combine participated in bench that year (if my source is correct). Positives: He will be 28 when the season opens but he has a much younger body hit/potential longevity wise. Negatives : HIs lack of experience and past knee injuries are a concern however above vid is an indication that he trusts the knee. Looks he likes the weight-room. That flab will lean out. Just like any other rookie coming in for camp he will need to shine to make the team, especially if the available FB market remains as it is now. realistically, he is a long shot. You can't evaluate his pro career because there is no film to study. FO must have seen something in the vids from his Wisky days.

Browns616
In 2011 Cincy was (14-15) on 3rd and 1 with him at FB. That's exactly why he is here, short yardage
Clevfan4life
Yes, leg strength is important, but so is upper body strength. He looked kind of flabby to me. Vince Wilfork is pretty gut damn flabby too.....does anyone question his upper body strength? Dude benched 225 32 times......I'm not questioning his strength whatsoever, upper or lower. What I question is his skillset....but if what was just posted is accurate, that Cincy was 14/15 on 3rd and 1 with him in the game....now we're talkin.
