If you scale that up to the usa - 70m -> 300m - you end up with something like 800-900 child deaths per year. America (apparently, in 2007, most recent I could find at short notice) has 1200 child deaths, which would seem a fairly reasonable number, given the natural fluctuation of these things. I'm talking about a relatively small number of kids killed by sick fucks. but neither here nor England is there a media blitz to do something drastic about it.
