BradyBunchBust Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Out of all the years, which qb for the browns did you think didn't get enough opportunity and chances to prove themselves as a true decent starter for the team???
Mudfly Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 how about Mike Pagel....a starter until traded to the browns same year Bernie broke out....Id say poor timing for Mike made him a backup..... But, Id bet he would be better than most of the starters weve had since....
Flyin J Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Out of all the years, which qb for the browns did you think didn't get enough opportunity and chances to prove themselves as a true decent starter for the team???You could almost say all of em....
Westside Steve Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 You could almost say all of em.... That's about it. Sure not many have gone on to win Super Bowls but none of them had more than a season with the same system or the same coach. There are reasons that Trent Dilfer and Rex Grossman played in Super Bowls and it's not but they were so talented that they carried the team. And that's what some fans expect. WSS

The Gipper Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 You are talking in the history of the Cleveland Browns? There is one obvious one: Len Dawson. Started one game for the Browns in 1961. Let go after the year, picked up by the Dallas Texans nka Kansas City Chiefs, wins the AFL title that year.....then wins SB4...and becomes a Hall of Famer. Beyond that perhaps Ty Detmer should have been allowed to start more games and give Tim Couch a better chance to learn. Lastly, maybe Luke McCown. Drafted in 2004. Then they went for Charlie Frye the next year. McCown, as far as I know is still in the league, though he is no great shakes....but he may have been better than the parade that followed...though I doubt he was better than DA.
TexasAg1969 Posted August 22, 2014 Report Posted August 22, 2014 Johnny Football-never played a down for the Browns and was released by the fans.
