Guest ATENEARS
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Mo Williams added to All-Star roster by Mary Schmitt Boyer / Plain Dealer Reporter Tuesday February 10, 2009, 4:41 PM INDIANAPOLIS -- The NBA today announced the Cavaliers guard Mo Williams will be added to the Eastern Conference squad for Sunday's All-Star Game in Phoenix. NBA Commissioner David Stern today selected Williams to replace injured All-Star forward Chris Bosh (sprained right knee) of the Toronto Raptors. Williams will be making his first All-Star appearance. He joins starter LeBron James and coach Mike Brown. Williams was one of the candidates to be named as a reserve by the coaches, but was not selected. It was thought he would be added last week when Jameer Nelson of Orlando was injured, but Stern instead selected Boston's Ray Allen, touching off a small furor in Cleveland. I'm glad to see Mo make it afterall. With the coach and the superstar already there, Mo gives it more of a "team" recognition for the Cavs and their good first half.
