The Gipper
In my view there are now only 7 teams left to make the "Field of Four" (I know they don't want to call it the Final Four): Florida State ....game remaining vs. Boston College, Florida both at home plus ACC title game Alabama ....games remaining vs. Western Carolina (really?) Auburn both at home plus possible SEC title game Oregon ....games remaining vs. Colorado @ Oregon St. plus Pac 12 title game Mississippi St. ....games remaining vs Vanderbilt @ Ole Miss (now on outside of SEC title game TCU ....games remaining @ Texas, Iowa St. Baylor ....games remaining vs. Oklahoma St. Texas Tech, @ Kansas St. Ohio State .... games remaining vs. Indiana, Michigan both at home Big Ten title game Teams "deleted" from contention over the weekend: Nebraska with loss to Wisconsin Duke with loss to Virginia Tech Arizona St. with loss to Oregon St.
The Gipper
Interesting notes: A. Right now, Alabama would play Missouri in the SEC title game. For Missouri to gain that SEC title game they merely have to defeat bottom feeders Arkansas and Tennessee. But, of course, Missouri is capable of losing to anyone......they lost to Indiana. B. Right now, Oregon would be playing any one of 4 teams from the Pac 12 South: UCLA, USC, Arizona, Arizona St. All with 2 conferences losses. Of course those teams do play each other. C. Right now, Ohio State would play Wisconsin in the Big 10 Title game. The last couple of weeks evidence that these may indeed be the best two teams at this point. D. Right now, Florida St. would play Georgia Tech in the ACC title game. Tech's final game is against Georgia. E. The Big 12 does not have a conference title game. But, here in the last 3 weeks there IS another major issue at hand: Supremacy between the ACC and the SEC. There are 4 games left matching intrastate foes, one of which is in the SEC and the other in the ACC: Florida/Florida St. Georgia Tech/Georgia Clemson/South Carolina Kentucky/Louisville. In the only SEC/ACC game played so far, SEC Georgia did defeat ACC Clemson
The Gipper
In my view there are now only 7 teams left to make the "Field of Four" (I know they don't want to call it the Final Four): Florida State ....game remaining vs. Boston College, Florida both at home plus ACC title game FSU won on another late game save. Alabama ....games remaining vs. Western Carolina (really?) Auburn both at home plus possible SEC title game Impressed no one by win here. Oregon ....games remaining vs. Colorado @ Oregon St. plus Pac 12 title game took care of business against a bad Buffalo squad. Mississippi St. ....games remaining vs Vanderbilt @ Ole Miss (now on outside of SEC title game 51-0 win? Is that indicative of how strong MSU is, or of how weak the bottom of the SEC is? TCU ....games remaining @ Texas, Iowa St. Game vs. Texas to be played on Thanksgiving Baylor ....games remaining vs. Oklahoma St. Texas Tech, @ Kansas St. Took care of business vs. OK St. Bigger tests coming up Ohio State .... games remaining vs. Indiana, Michigan both at home Big Ten title game. Won going away against underrated Indiana team, which has probably one of the top 5 rushers in the country in Tavon Coleman. Teams "deleted" from contention over the weekend: NONE Nebraska with loss to Wisconsin Duke with loss to Virginia Tech Arizona St. with loss to Oregon St.
