THE BROWNS BOARD

RAC is the Main candidate for KC Defensive Coordinator Job

"Clancy Pendergast accepted a job on the Chiefs' coaching staff without a specific title. The Chiefs were vague with the titles of the assistant coaches they have hired is because there is a chance Romeo Crennel might become the Chiefs' defensive coordinator. Pendergast and other defensive coaches accepted jobs as "defensive assistant coaches.'' NFL.com's Adam Schefter confirms that the Chiefs will implement a 3-4 defense under new GM Scott Pioli and head coach Todd Haley."

If he takes the job will he have to relieve the Browns of paying off his old contract?

If it does happen, then I can't see them taking Curry. Converting to the 3-4 means a lot of player changes because current guys won't fit. Beside needing a lot on offense, they need to find a NT get rid of their DEs find some 3-4 DEs and they would be looking for a pass rusher, an OLB instead of a ILB.

Don't see why. It's one thing if you assume Raji's the guy, but his rumored character issues may not make him a "Patriot Way" type.

There isn't a DE in the draft worth the 3rd pick in the draft, and the available OLB's are the same guys we don't seem to be comfortable taking at 5. If so, why would Pioli want to take one of them?

Curry's the closest thing to a sure bet in this draft. And if you've got a defense with a lot of holes, why wouldn't solidifying one of the ILB spots be a smart move?

I agree totally. This is horrible news (for those of us who want Curry).
