VaporTrail
It's not our business what Russia is up to. Did you see them giving us shit over iraq? As I recall, they did give us shit over Iraq, and were selling the Iraqis NVGs when we went there.
The Cysko Kid
Hey I could he wrong. It's news to me. I do know that we were there for a decade and I don't recall hearing much about Russia meddling in that time.
calfoxwc
No, I'm not saying that we should send troops there. But not sending aid, and military equipment to the Ukraine is inviting the russians to go for broke with aggression, and trying to ignore the world falling apart is how we ended up in two world wars. We need to disband the UN. It's worthless, and we pay out the wazoo to keep it funded. It doesn't work, it's corrupted badly. Ignore the Ukraine, then they go on to another country, which they are now, and then another. They are not stopping with the entire Ukraine anymore than they stopped with Crimea. They will just use the wealth and military advantage gleaned from conquered territory, to support their further aggression, and they will save the Nato aligned countries til later. Then, you have a world war. I'd just be interested in stalemating them now. That's why I'm thinking we don't ignore what's going on on a "small scale". The Russians are desperate to keep their economy afloat, similar to what Stalin did in starving out millions of those innocent folks in the Ukraine. Socialism can't support itself, it either has to turn on it's own citizens who have money... or take over the wealth of other countries....or both. Back in the day, the Ukraine was the breadbasket of Europe, and russia took all the bread from it. Russia wants their dominant power back. You can see it in aggression over territories, and you can see it in their bomber runs - the Caribbean, Europe, Alaska..... they are pushing to see how far they can push, even if they have to eventually go to war to continue on the course they are on. mohican
our economic sanctions against Russia are really an act of war, and as with all sanctions hurt the people and not the people in power. McCain, Lyndsey Graham et all are not doing the United States any favors by beating the war drum.
calfoxwc
The russians and the chinese have been working outlandishly to undermine our currency and crash our economy. why? Because they want to do what they want while the us is presidented by a cowardly false president, and we have big financial problems... My concern is that all this is a deliberate precursor to open aggression in the rest of Europe.
FairHooker11
well they are talking sending arms to Ukrainians - but we all remember a certain line drawn in the desert too..... http://www.cnn.com/2015/02/02/politics/us-ukraine-lethal-aid/
calfoxwc
This gutless weasel says one thing, then does or says another. I think if they had already armed the Ukraine with self defense weaponry, this last aggression wouldn't be going on. Bullies need a punch to the face early on, and it stops, symbollically speaking. Russia has made deals with China and wants deals with the EU, to be able to laugh at the U.S. about more of their sanctions. Meanwhile, they will be accomplishing their objectives - reversing, as they see fit, the dissolution of the soviet union empire. Appeasement just doesn't work, but this college leftist in our WH doesn't know diddley, and won't, ever, because he's far too gone a narcissist to listen to reality, to anyone who dares to disagree with him, or displease his worthless phony highness. calfoxwc
Saw on the news, that former defense secretaries have said we need to arm the Ukraine...and Obamao's current nominee for the same also says it.... and a bipartisan group of Congresspeople have sent a letter to Obamao asking him to arm the Ukraine. It should have already been done.....but Obamao is STILL VOTING "PRESENT" because he can't make a decision...or if he does, he wants to wait too long, to see if how he decides eventually helps him politically. He's a sick minded narcissist. But Sheppie sure loved him some Obamao.... not so much anymore, maybe.
Westside Steve
I think I'd leave the Ruskies alone in this situation and let it be known we expect some cooperation with Iran. WSS

LogicIsForSquares
Because the world is exactly the same as it was pre-WWII. We live in a completely different world with completely different global dynamics.
calfoxwc
and yet, evil human nature has had "monomythical" patterns to it throughout history, all the way up to present day. It was a different global world before ww1 than ww1. Empires rise and fall, and always, it was evil people that spawned them. Ghengis Khan/Mongols, Napoleon and his empire, Stalin and the soviet union, Hitler and the nazis... ...and... Goldfinger and his bad guys... calfoxwc
Looking worse and worse. The russian/rebels had no intention of honoring any ceasefire agreement, or why would they be trying to take the E. Ukraine in the first place? Can't blame other countries for trying, but it's all to the russians advantage, like when they signed a non-aggressive bioweapon pact with the U.S. They simply gleefully went underground, and continued development of them at a faster pace. Meanwhile, Jews are frantically leaving different places in Europe, and the Middle East, many are looking to go to Israel. The world is starting to fall apart at a faster pace. They only have two years of a total lack of leadership, pro-Muslim bigotry with Obamao, and cowardice and ignorance of Obamao... to make historical major gains. http://news.yahoo.com/battle-rages-town-where-ukraine-rebels-reject-ceasefire-125913126.html The russians want to take that railway station, to enclrcle the Ukraine, and if necessary, starve them out. Exactly like Stalin did to them. Sanctions are pitifully temporary, compared to the permanent destruction and loss of innocent lives in war.
