State Department Spokesperson Marie Harf last night told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that the murderous Islamic savages of ISIS cannot be stopped by “killing them.” Um, what? You heard right, and she was just getting started: “We’re killing a lot of them and we’re going to keep killing more of them. So are the Egyptians, so are the Jordanians. They’re in this fight with us. But we cannot win this war by killing them. We cannot kill our way out of this war. We need in the medium to longer term to go after the root causes that leads people to join these groups, whether it’s lack of opportunity for jobs…” WHAT? We need a jobs program for ISIS? That will solve it? Matthews, with some (rare) sense, quickly shot her down: We’re not going to be able to stop that in our lifetime or fifty lifetimes. There’s always going to be poor people. There’s always going to be poor Muslims, and as long as there are poor Muslims, the trumpet’s blowing and they’ll join. We can’t stop that, can we? Is it any wonder that, between posing with his selfie stick and playing golf, that Obama has absolutely no clue how to respond to ISIS? Groups like ISIS won't have as many recruits if there are more opportunities for work and education in these shit heel countries was her angle. But you can most definitely kill your way to victory against groups like this especially if it is a true coalition of muslim countries doing the grunt work. Japan is very concerned over China's major aggression being threatened, Israel is very concerned about Iran, and Hamas, Hezbollah, and isil, Europe is concerned over it all.... So long as Sharia law is a reality in the Middle East, there are going to be people who buy into it enough to blow themselves up in a crowd of Americans. Saudi Arabia is one of our biggest allies over there (thanks oil), yet fingerprints of their brand of Islam, Wahhabism, are all over the Islamic State.
