Lastoria's Top Prospects

Recommended Posts

Finally got around to cracking open his book, and while I'm not going to get much shock value since he's already posted #s 100-3, I also won't feel so guilty about posting them. Anyway, here's the top 10.

1. Carlos Santana - Catcher

2. Nick Weglarz - Outfielder

3. Matt LaPorta - Outfielder/First Baseman

4. Adam Miller - Pitcher

5. David Huff - Pitcher

6. Kevin De La Cruz - Left-handed Pitcher

7. Hector Rondon - Right-handed Pitcher

8. Beau Mills - First Baseman

9. Lonnie Chisenhall - Third Baseman

10. Wes Hodges - Third Baseman

tiny descriptions about each of them...

1. Santana - Switch hitting catcher with 20-25 homer potential and an "RBI Machine" (AA)

2. Weglarz - baby Thome. Huge kid with 30-40 homer potential, said to have the best power bat in the system. Could move to first base.(AA)

3. LaPorta - More polished Weglarz, also with 30+ potential and much closer to the big leagues. (AAA)

4. Miller - we all know the story. (who knows)

5. Huff - Crafty Lefty. 90-93 MPH fastball, big time changeup, and a plus slider. (AAA)

6. De La Cruz - Called Carmona-Left for all their similarities, sans Sinker. 91-93 MPH fastball that could improve and a plus 12-6 curveball. (A+)

7. Rondon - Youngster on the rise. Aggressive starter with a 94 MPH fastball that tops out at 96. (AA)

8. Mills - Great bat but weak fielder. In a logjam of first base prospects, possibly including Weglarz and LaPorta. (AA)

9. Chisenhall - Intelligent, polished. Potential to grow in power. Good defender, converted shortstop. (A+)

10. Hodges - Advanced bat but still a project at third. (AAA)

As always, check out the (great) site for more.
