CLEVELandMILIDH Posted March 23, 2009 Report Share Posted March 23, 2009 Compensatory picks are supposed to be anounced sometime this evening from the owners meeting. heres a website were a guy predicts what teams will get extra draft picks based on a formula he developed since the NFL hasnt disclosed how they actually award picks. Who did we lose last year that would qualify us for picks...and then you have to offset that loss with players you signed. We always sign more than we lose. Next year....who knows....maybe we will get one having lost Davis and Jones with both being drafted players. It just depends if we sign anybody to offset those guys.....so far I don't think we have. ballpeen Posted March 24, 2009 Report Share Posted March 24, 2009 We might get a pick for Jones or Davis in next years draft. It isn't for players you lose this year as picks are announced before all the FA sign. Seeing as we haven't signed much this year, and both Jones and Davis were drafted by us, we may get a pick or two next year. Jones might be a 4th or 5th round guy, Davis possibly a 6-7. Not exactly sure how players are tiered to determine compensation. And any player you lose has to have been drafted by you to qualify for comp picks. FA's you sign then lose won't bring any picks.....so if we lost Cribbs as an example, we wouldn't get any consideration for him. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
