gftChris
having gun free areas in america is like having a giant KFC where people sitting in a few specific seats around the restaurant aren't able to eat; but you have nobody stopping them from bringing food in or eating, just telling them afterwards they shouldn't have done that. LogicIsForSquares
having gun free areas in america is like having a giant KFC where people sitting in a few specific seats around the restaurant aren't able to eat; but you have nobody stopping them from bringing food in or eating, just telling them afterwards they shouldn't have done that. I can assure you that the guns were already there. Criminals don't care about strict gun laws. That is why they are criminals.

Legacy Fan
Funny how the NY & NYC clerks aren't thrown in jail for not issuing gun permits, but Kentucky is in the can for not issuing marriage licenses. Got it

gftChris
This was tested in 2012: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kachalsky_v._Cacace Kachalsky v. Cacace (District - 10 Civ 05413, 2nd Circuit - 11-3642) is a case regarding the constitutionality of "may-issue" concealed carry laws. The plaintiffs, Alan Kachalsky, Christina Nikolov, and the Second Amendment Foundation, represented by Alan Gura, originally sought an injunction barring Susan Cacace, handgun licensing authority for co-Defendant Westchester County, New York, from enforcing a requirement of New York State law that applicants for handgun carry permits demonstrate "proper cause" for the issuance of a handgun license and subsequent carry of a handgun in public. District court ruled - "... in applying intermediate scrutiny, the "good cause" requirement promotes and is substantially related to the government's strong interest in public safety and crime prevention, and thus, while it is conceded to be an infringement of the Plaintiffs' Constitutional rights, it is constitutional and may stand." On appeal - "...the panel ruling affirmed the District Court decision along similar reasoning." SCOTUS declined to hear the case. Legacy Fan
Bear in mind, it's 9-12 months (per their website) for the application process. And that's just to *possess* a handgun. (Concealed carry with varying levels of restrictions is granted at the issuance of the "handgun license", but you're not getting CC "downstate" unless you're law enforcement or one of Cuomo/Bloomberg's goons). Infringement. Period.
Legacy Fan
Also for consideration: one of these rights is *explicitly* outlined in our constitution. The other is not.
