Vegasdogg
Good article, but I temper my enthusiasm about the Browns with two key words: We'll see.

YtownBrownsBacker
Nice read.......Mangini knows what he wants. You are right on. At least there is plan in place. Some may not like the moves, but it seems that he definately has a plan worth a wait and see.
WPB Dawg Fan
You are right on. At least there is plan in place. Some may not like the moves, but it seems that he definately has a plan worth a wait and see. The problem with the Browns has been the inability to survive an injury..at ANY position. They have had some decent starters....our offense was littered with all-stars in 2007...but a couple of injuries and suddenly that vaunted offense was nothing but a bunch of scrubs. Now, look at NE. They get an injury...and the next guy steps in and performs at a level that allows the team to continue to utilize their normal game plan...and in many cases at a high level. So, instead of building from the top down (all star players as starters but no depth) the Browns have finally decided to address the bottom line...DEPTH. Now, when we get a top notch player...we have a backup to him and can survive an injury. We may not get much better this year...but by next year we will have 2 drafts worth of new blood and talent that will not only have talent...but depth behind it..giving us the ability to draft for BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE..and not for need. I like the plan...and hope we have the intelligence as fans (and ownership) to let it work. By the way...here is what Bilicheck did with his 2000 and 2001 drafts...it may give us some insight as to where we may go: 2000 2 46 Adrian Klemm Offensive tackle Hawaii 3 76 J. R. Redmond Running back Arizona State 4 127 Greg Robinson-Randall Offensive tackle Michigan State 5 141 Dave Stachelski Tight end Boise State 5[4] 161 Jeff Marriott Defensive tackle Missouri 6 187 Antwan Harris Safety Virginia 6 199 Tom Brady Quarterback Michigan 6 201 David Nugent Defensive end Purdue 7 226 Casey Tisdale Linebacker New Mexico 7 239 Patrick Pass Fullback Georgia 2001 Round Overall Player Position College 1 6 Richard Seymour Defensive tackle Georgia 2[1] 48 Matt Light Offensive tackle Purdue 3[2] 86 Brock Williams Cornerback Notre Dame 4[3] 96 Kenyatta Jones Offensive tackle South Florida 4[2] 119 Jabari Holloway Tight end Notre Dame 5 163 Hakim Akbar Safety Washington 6[4] 180 Arther Love Tight end South Carolina State 6 200 Leonard Myers Cornerback Miami (FL) 7[5] 216 Owen Pochman Kicker BYU 7 239 T.
