I didn't watch the game, but I mistakenly deduced what I thought the play was from what I heard others say. Turns out it wasn't a polecat formation, but swinging gate. Swinging gate is sometimes run at the prep level for trickeration. At the pro level, it's more commonly run to try and catch the defense with 12 men on the field.
