The Browns' fall from grace in the eyes of the rest of the NFL became official Monday when the league announced its slate of nationally televised exhibition games on the same day teams announced their preseason opponents.

Eleven games will be nationally televised — not one of them involving the Browns.

Last year, six Browns games were nationally televised, including the preseason game Aug. 18 against the Giants in the Meadowlands.

But the Browns were 4-12 in 2008 and no longer have the appeal they did after finishing 10-6 in 2007.

The Browns will play the Packers in Green Bay one day during the week of Aug. 13-17, host the Lions some time between Aug. 20-24, host the Titans one evening between Aug. 27-31 and play the Bears in Chicago Sept. 3 or Sept. 4. The Browns play the Packers, Lions and Bears in the regular season.

Exact dates and times for the preseason as well as the regular-season schedule will be announced next month. All preseason games will be televised on WKYC-TV 3 and broadcast on WMMS-FM 100.7.

NFL Network has been telecasting full length replays of just about every exhibition game the past few seasons. I think they aired 55 out of the 64 last year, with those other 9 being the nationally televised games.
