dawg2fan
Not sure if this thread has been written before, but what do think? Let's look at the last 10 openers: @Eagles @Jets @Steelers Dolphins @ Browns Eagles @ Browns Bengals @ Browns Bucs @ Browns Vikings @ Browns Cowbioys @ Browns Steelers @ Browns Saints @ Browns Obviously we let a bunch of good players go, so we'll wait to see how draft day plays out then discuss if we have a shot to beat the Eagles. Last win was against the Ravens in 2004 (20-3).

gftChris
I think the eagles will be there for the taking this year.

Our problem is that we have had guys like Romeo, Shurmur, Chud, Pettine coaching us.....guys that could not apparently get a team ready to play on opening day. So many times it has seemed like this team has sleepwalked through their opening game......like they thought that the preseason was still on. We can only hope that the analytics prove much better than Farmer and Hue coaches better than Pettine. Hard to imagine we didn't get much more with out D last season. However, many DCs could've gotten more production than we did.
gftChris
@Jets - 10-6 @Steelers 11-5 Dolphins @ Browns 8-8 Eagles @ Browns 4-12 Bengals @ Browns 9-7 Bucs @ Browns 10-6 Vikings @ Browns 12-4 Cowbioys @ Browns 9-7 Steelers @ Browns 10-6 Saints @ Browns 10-6 With records. Total 93-67, .581 record, so almost 10-6.

So you didn't think many of these coaches didn't come into Cleveland thinking they only had one or two years to make a winner and tried to draft just that? Obviously when it didn't work, they knew their job was in jeopardy. Let's hope Haslem gives Hue (3 - 5 years) a true shot to put his plan into effect. I don't think that they had that in mind at all when they began the season. I think, essentially that they were bad coaches....which is why they were gone so soon......and the consistent losses in the first game of the year is indicative of the fact that they could not get their teams prepared to play.
