I heard this brought up a couple of times on the radio recently: According to some sources, apparently the NFL league office was instrumental in arranging the trade that got the LA Rams the #1 overall pick. The accusation was that the league showed preference toward the Rams because they are starting back up in the #2 US market....but that preference was to the detriment of other NFL teams, specifically the Cleveland Browns who held the #1 pick.

Do you think this is true, and what do you make of it? (in theory this question could have its own separate thead)

And when he gets out it says that he is interested in dating the former wife of his good friend, now deceased....that being Kris Kardashian/Jenner. Stuck a day in a snowstorm in Delaware on our way to Ft. Bragg. But our best post kids "honeymoon" was Barcelona to Bordeaux to a week in Paris. Highly recommend it. Or a week on St. John, USVI. Great snorkeling.

I look at this as: where do we have the most dearth of talent. With RG and still McCown, QB is not it to me. So here they are in order:

A. WR. Without Gordon, Browns have no first line receiver. Starters Hawkins and Hartline are really backups at best.

B. DE. Starters are Des Bryant and John Hughes. Backups X Cooper and Dylan Wynn....how good are they? I would hope Cooper would come around.

C. Strong Safety. Ibrahim Campbell is our starter....with no backup listed, though Poyer could serve. Not a strong spot for us.

D. QB would be at most our 4th top need.

The Browns probably should dump Gordon on principle....but I would not be that happy about it.

But, unless Gilbert gets his shit together, he can leave and not let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

I certainly would NOT put it out of the realm of possibility that the NFL office would show preference towards the Rams at this point. They have been salivating about getting a team to LA for some time, and some people, like Jerry Jones have been outwardly drooling over the money they think they are going to make from the LA market. Their thinking also is "Oh, little ole Cleveland, they have sucked for so long and have been a problem child..who cares if they continue to suck for a while more"

I don't think it is true. It's probably some national media guy making crap up because he doesn't have any news on the Patriots, Steelers, Packers, Giants, or Broncos.

A physical presence on the DL. Sheldon was a good pick last year and someone lined up next to him would be excellent. In their division they must not get pushed around like last year. Proof? The Ravens beat us by a blocked fg.
