DieHardBrownsFan
Thank you for serving DieHard stay cool drink one for all of us. Thank you my man. I'm burned to a crisp, and I surely will. My daughter and 2 grand kids are over. Went to the Indians game and watched them lose, got sun burned and they are on the way over. Have a great one. Canton Mike
I came back. Some who served with me did not. That's a big reason why I get upset about name calling over a damn GAME! Mike

StinkHole
Happy Memorial Day to all my fellow Retired Military, Active Duty and Honorably Discharged Veterans! I've always found it weird saying "Happy" Memorial Day . It's really not about happy. It is a day set aside to honor and remember the fallen men and women who served. That's like saying Happy Good Friday. The irony of this article is how the title conflicts to what this Marine is saying in the very same article: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/u-s-armed-forces-service-members-reflect-memorial-day-article-1.2653452 “It kills me when people say, ‘Happy Memorial Day.’ People’s husbands were killed, and the radio commercials are ‘Get a deal on Memorial Day!’ People get the time off, and that’s cool. People partying, all that stuff. Do those things – but know the reason why that day is. We are all Americans.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/checkpoint/wp/2015/05/22/im-a-veteran-and-i-hate-happy-memorial-day-heres-why/ The only problem after having posted all that is what is an alternative greeting? I don't think there is one. Whats also weird is thanking vets and active duty people for their service on Memorial Day. I am also a vet, please don't thank me. This day is not for me. Veterans Day is.

One Post
http://www.godsmarines.com/gelinamark.htm My brother in law died while serving in the fight against terrorism. Semper Fi. He was setting up on top of a roof and slipped. Fell three stories. It was a sad day for all of us and he was a good guy. Huge Chiefs fan too. We always talked football at family outings and one day I got an Arizona Cardinal yearbook in the mail. He was somewhere an found it and bought it and mailed it to me. He always said I was the only Cards fan he ever knew. I told him ya there's a couple of us.
Clevfan4life
Who takes a picture of someone grieving like that? It would never remotely cross my mind to do that.
bbedward
Who takes a picture of someone grieving like that? It would never remotely cross my mind to do that. I think it's a pretty powerful photo tbh Just seeing thousands of headstones can make you forget that all of those people have families grieving them. Clevfan4life
is there any thread you won't ruin by bitching about something, Cleve? Im not wrong. If that person didnt give consent to that, its unbeleivably disrespectful. Put the left v right away for just a moment, if that was u grieving ur son andsomeone took that unbeknownst to u
calfoxwc
but you don't know, you are manufacturing a controversy where is none, with a convenient hypothetical. It take away from the thread. Clevfan4life
I get it theres no real way to know, but someone could have bern just a passerby...you dont know either. But we as a culture do this all the time....like when people take pictures of relatives of people who just went down in a plane wreck. The moment just has to be csptured apparently. Its a douchey aspect of our culture that bothers me. If you cant leave people alone at those moments, i mean when can you then?

gftChris
I'm not in the military, and nobody I know is either. But I respect the hell out of anybody who is or was, because it's such a sacrifice. I know that if bullets started flying near me I'd be running for the hills, and yet somehow people find the courage to stand tall (metaphorically...) and stare the enemy down. These videos always get me right in the feels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xHJZuHg_3s
