Canton Mike
Just got a notification that Muhammad Ali passed away at 74 years of age. Great boxer & man of conviction, he will be missed. I am a Vietnam Vet & he was a man who stood by his religious convictions against war & paid a dear price for those convictions. While we had different beliefs, I admire the fact that, instead of fleeing the country like a coward, he stood by his convictions & refused induction into the Army. He was then stripped of his heavyweight title. He was certainly a man of courage who earned my admiration. RIP. Mike
One Post
I was too young to remember the draft dodging or whatever some might call it. But was old enough to watch the wide world of sports. He was an icon. RIP Ali
The Cysko Kid
We're other celebrities drafted in the Vietnam era? It seems strange that they would draft the HW champ.
