Note: do NOT confuse sumac with pokeweed. Those purple berries hand down, and it's poisonous !

 

also, I made some great wild grape juice.

 

HOWEVER, there is a "look alike" very poisonous plant - "moon seed"

 

that you want to avoid. You look for jagged edged leaves, forked curly offshoots,

and more than one seed.
