Montel Williams: Facebook torturers deserve life in prison

Hate crime or not, the four black teens accused of terrorizing a white, mentally disabled man in Chicago deserve “life in prison” according to TV personality Montel Williams, who lashed out at the foursome this week.

“No parole. I’m not interested in whether these kids had a tough life, whether their parents loved them enough, I don’t care,” Williams, 60, posted to Facebook on Thursday. “If you can do this to another human being once, you can’t be trusted to not do it again.”

Williams, 60, continued: “Whether this is a hate crime is a distraction and irrelevant – THIS IS THE COLD BLOODED TORTURE OF AN INNOCENT HUMAN BEING.”

“That’s bigger than a hate crime, it’s bigger than racism (saying F*ck white people is racist by definition), its bigger than politics,” the tough-talking former talk show host went on.

Williams extended his prayers to the victim shown in the “disgusting video.”

The four suspects allegedly held the 18-year-old mentally handicapped man hostage and terrorized him in an apartment on the West Side of the city while streaming the reprehensible act on Facebook Live for about 30 minutes.

The video shows the victim bound and gagged by his attackers as they slashed his scalp and clothes with a knife and beat him.

The suspects are also heard saying “F–k Donald Trump, n—a, f–k white people!” and urging the terrified man to say “I love black people.”

The torturers were identified as Jordan Hill, 18, of Carpentersville, Ill.,Tesfaye Cooper, 18, Brittany Covington, 18, and Tanishia Covington, 24, all of Chicago who face charges of aggravated kidnapping, hate crime, aggravated unlawful restraint and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday.

They were all denied bail on Friday and prosecutors revealed that the victim suffers from schizophrenia and attention deficit disorder.

One of the four thugs even allegedly demanded $300 from the victim’s mother.

All four suspects have criminal histories, including violent and non-violent offenses.
